Help Is On The Way

Trump told the people of Tehran that help is on the way. There are plenty of people in American cities who would say no thank you.  Trump promised to end forever wars, but apparently that doesn't apply to wars forever.

We have the most ill informed president in the history of the country, with the most unqualified cabinet ever assembled, what could go wrong? We have a president who has no understanding or appreciation of the constitution. We have a congress scared of him, who so far, has failed to stand up for the people. We have a polarized country, with a president encouraging the discourse.

The only hope I see on the horizon is the mid-terms. Here in my district, I see a freshman Republican congressman waffling between the options. He supports Powell, unless he has done something wrong. He supports protest, but you have to be careful not to step over any line. To complicate his predicament, he is in a purple district. His time to get my vote is getting short. I no longer have a problem sitting out elections.

  2. I can recommend some excellent programs to watch while you lie on the couch on election day.

  3. anon@7:00: I'll be voting, but not for every slot. As an independent, I'd never vote party. As a conservative, many of my votes do go the Republicans, but not to the better of bad choices. I did NOT vote for the top of the ticket in 2024, and have no regrets.

    1. Also an Independent. I DID vote for the top of the ticket in 2024, and have no regrets. :)

As it looks now, I will once again vote a Republican for President. The current Democrat Party is far too radical for my tastes. Their bench of potential 2028 candidates is not the least bit attractive.

  4. I heard that the anti-Trump hysteria (some would say TDS) is mainly among older white women.

I didn’t believe that at first, but then I noticed the photo at the top of this blog.

  5. anon@10:18: Trump cost the Republicans at least a million votes yesterday, and he's just starting to unravel.

    1. Really? And what polling did you do to support the million vote comment?

There’s only one person unraveling on this blog, and it’s not Trump.

    2. I continue to be amazed (and demoralized) at the level of insecurity, hatred, ignorance and racism that has completely destroyed the Republican Party. Are you white men so insecure that support the horror that is the Trump administration? ICE has transformed into the Gestapo, full of goons and failed cops and it’s okay with you? They are not doing the job they were “hired” for, only terrorizing people. Their crude comments, their eagerly shooting their pepper spray guns (and guns) at whomever. If you think k America is better now than one year ago, YOU are the problem.

  6. Are there any of the like 7 democratic candidates you'd consider supporting or is it really just the republican or no one for you?

  7. I could support a Democrat if he/she moved to the center enough. I could also vote for an independent, with the idea of making that option more viable in the future.
