Disgrace In Minneapolis

Kristi Noem defended the fatal shooting in Minneapolis, despite videos showing that it was an overreaction by the ICE officer. We have cowboy policies being defended by cowgirls. That victim might as well. have been living in Caracas under Maduro. Trump helped cut his Venezuelan victory lap short by blaming the shooting on the radical left.

Elsewhere, we have another Trump cowboy denigrating an American hero and astronaut. In reality, Hegseth is making Mark Kelly viable for 2028

Locally, I'm watching the 7th District race. Unless Mackenzie stands up against the Administration's recklessness very soon, it will matter little who wins the heated Democratic primary.

ADDENDUM: I keep hearing that the officer had the "right" to fire, but was shooting her the right thing to do? ... Not by a country mile.

  1. I have looked at the video of the ICE agents and the SUV in the street, as well as the incident with the woman driving the SUV and her subsequent shooting by the ICE agent.

I fail to see any "domestic terrorism". What I see is an ICE agent trying to open the door of the woman's SUV that is blockiing the street. She is panicing and attempting to drive away to get away from the ICE officer. I also see another ICE agent, with his weapon already drawn, dodging away from the now escaping woman and firing his weapon, subsequently killing her.

It appears that this is in response to all of the Somali fraud going on in the area and Trump ordering ICE to arrest and subsequently deport all the Somails there. However, it is unclear wether or not the visas have been revoked since they are expiring in March anyway.

The woman in the SUV clearly was trying to block the ICE agents from going down the street with her SUV to stop them from whatever they intended to do. As far as I know, she has a legal right to protest against authority.

What is not clear is if she intended to harm the second ICE officer by driving away from the first officer that was pulling on her locked SUV door. Whether she either paniced from his actions and did not see the second ICE officer, or had the intent to run over the second ICE officer with the SUV is unclear, and as she was killed when the second officer fired his weapon, we will never know.

Was the second officer threated by her using deadly force against him is also unknown as we don't know what her intent was driving the vehicle or if she just paniced or what was in her thoughts.

From watching the video, it appears she paniced and did not see the second ICE officer when she was trying to get away from the first ICE officer trying to get her door open. The second ICE officere was not hit by the SUV pulling away. The second officer felt threatened, paniced and fired his weapon at her.

Why he had his weapon drawn in the first place needs to be investigated as well.

It is quite clear that this is NOT a case of "domestic terrorism". That means that every soccer mom who doesn't like ICE deporting Illegal aliens who wants to protest is a "domestic terrorist". That appears to be a CYA excuse by DHS for this incident happening.

Shooting Soccer Moms in their SUVs is also not something ICE or Law Enforcement should be doing either.

I want ICE to do their job and remove criminal illegal ailens from the country. This incident needs review by senior law enforcement authorities to determine whether or not deadly force was appropriate by the officer who killed the woman.

    1. I agree 100% every one can see her turning away from him , if she intends to run him over she wouldn’t have turned away !

    2. Best advice for all, DO NOT interfere with federal enforcement operations by driving you vehicle into one of their closed formations and then stopping at a perpendicular in the middle of the street to hold back patrolling enforcement agents from advancing.

When approached by an agent who grasps your door handle and screams “get out of the car NOW ! “ DO NOT step on the accelerator to continue AWAY from the lawful command and do so in even partially in the direction of any second agent with his weapon drawn.

The chaos and confusion you bring to a high intensity environment could lead to everyone’s confusion. The history of attacks on ICE agents with bricks, stones, and chemicals is extensive. Better to remain curbside where you can hold your signs and scream obscenities to your heart’s desire.

  2. This was second time this officer was faced with the possibility of being injured or killed by a protester using a vehicle as a weapon. Last time was almost fatal. This time, the protester rolled the dice and literally came up snake eyes. New motto: "F" around, find out.

  3. The ice agent was clearly on the side of the vehicle, out of harms way, when he fired the shots.

    1. There was an ICE agent near the driver's side window. The agent who fired the shots was in front of it. Her tires were pointed to the left, and she only turned right when her tires spun on the roadway. There was no reason for the ICE officer to allow himself or other agents to be harmed. The woman made an incredibly bad choice and paid the ultimate price for it.

    2. Correct! The newly posted video I just watched actually captured the blast/smoke coming out of the Agent stand at the front of her car. Only when she accelerated forward did the Agent shoot at her leaving a single bullet hole on the windshield. The other Agent was still hanging on her door handle when the shot blast happened.

    3. Yes, I am referring to the officer that was in front. He quickly moved out of the way and pulled the trigger three times when both feet were on the side of the vehicle, out of harms way. You can’t dodge the threat and then react as if you are still under threat.

    4. He was already hit. You are wrong. She did a number od stupid things. Tragic but her fault

  4. anon@7:28: If she was driving straight toward him (that is to be determined), most people would jump out of the way, rather than fire a gun into the windshield and then into the back car window. If justice prevails, and he is indicted for excessive use of force, perhaps his defense attorney can use his previous incident to explain his lack of judgement..
These ICE raids are theater, which the country was tiring of….now they had enough for sure. But Trump and his cabinet, which he calls his kids, like to double down. Republican incumbents will pay the price.

    1. Why was she blocking a law enforcement vehicle? Why did she not get out of the vehicle when directed to do so? Why did she put her car in reverse, then in drive to get away and ignore the directive? Was the pedophile Somali that ICE took in after this incident just theater too? The Minnesota police could have arrested him but did not. Yes, I think you have lost it a bit. You fought the good fight over the NIZ for years to no avail. Now you have moved on to the orange man. He is tiresome but so are the reactions of hysterics like yourself. ( I just very recently left the valley and downtown allentown job so I am aligned on many of the issues plaguing Allentown. It is not going to get better therefor some time. Not with the lightweights and performance artists that are currently considered "leaders".

    2. Doesn’t really matter why she was there. We have something called due process in this country. If she was obstructing then an officer with the proper legal authority should detain her and charge her accordingly.

    3. Why do you think she was directed to get out of the car? Did she do that? No. Think it through before commenting based on emotion, but without rational thought.

  5. Mike the officer was just dragged about 75 yards and injured by a illegal over the summer and is back in action. He must have suffered some sort of trauma with the injuries from that incident.

  6. anon@7:58: as I wrote at 7:52, if justice prevails and he is indicted, his defense attorney can use that previous incident to explain his mental state. I see the Republican Trumpsters circling the wagons, but this tragedy isn't going away. An ICE army, prisons in El Salvador, Alcatraz in the Everglades and cowgirl theater has to go.

  7. She was there to interfere with the lawful operations of the ICE agents. She failed to comply with lawful orders to stop her vehicle and intended to run over the officers.

Had local or state police in Minneapolis been assisting the operation, they could have set a perimeter and kept her from interfering with the ICE agents (and arresting her if she did).

She is a victim of her own wrong belief that you can pick and choose which crimes to enforce, and that you can interfere with law enforcement operations you don't agree with.

The responsibility for her death is on her and the democrat politicians who stoked this confrontation and allowed it to happen.

  8. anon@12:51,12:54, 12:57, and others: As I state in the post, I feel this was an unnecessary shooting. How objective the investigation is conducted remains to be seen. I do believe the predictable lip-service given by Noem, Vance and Trump will hurt the Republicans.Furthermore, I believe Republicans who parrot the party line will pay a price.

  9. This woman and her "wife" were trained to resist ice... why is no one mentioning this? Also, the agents cam video was released showing the car impacting him. Poor reporting all the way around.

  10. Many years ago I was actually hit by a car. I also target shoot. You do not get hit by a car and fire three rounds. He panicked because of a prior incident. He may or may not be prosecuted, but it was a wrongful death. For anonymous commenters here defending the incident, it is MAGA/Partisan nonsense as usual. For Trump, Noem and Vance it is despicable.

  11. adams@11:24: armed officers aren't suppose to take out their bad days by shooting people. Futhermore, everybody "sees" that the car hit the officer, but don't see him walking up the street afterward apparently looking completely uninjured. Totally unnecessary shooting, wrongful death.

    1. Anyone who is paying any attention whatsoever saw the car hit the officer with a glancing blow, and yes, after he shot, the same officer walked up the street apparently unharmed.
It is possible for rational people to have a rational analysis of the incident without leaping to conclusions like too many politicians I both teams have regrettably done.
      I don’t have a team.

    2. adams@8:56: I know from experience, and you also have experienced thigh injury, that unless you have the car's "apparent" contact with you under your complete control, you DO NOT walk up the street afterwards. If politics was completely and honestly removed from this situation, he may have executed her.

      “Drive Baby, drive. Drive!”
      The wife.

Changing the goal posts isn’t a winning strategy.

The “Ice Warrior” backed her vehicle up, turned the wheels, and drove into the ICE officer. A second Officer was attempting to open the SUV’s door. The “wife” seemed to find the situation humorous.
Was it her intention to kill the man?
Unlikely, but we will never know.
      Was this tragedy avoidable?
      Certainly.
      Was something like this inevitable?
Probably, given the amount of vitriol aimed at ICE officers during the course of their work, up to and including the sniper attack on the ICE facility.
The ICE officers have been repeatedly referred to as Nazis by pundits and politicians.
In a media ecosystem like this it is likely that unhinged people will feel a duty to “resist” LE officials.

Is the death of this woman a tragedy?
      Absolutely.
      Is it a crime?
      No.

    4. What seems to have vanished from the institutional memory, and the Wikipedia record, is that Allentown City Council addressed, and if my hazy recollection is correct, passed a Sanctuary City resolution some decades ago at a well attended city council meeting. Dave Howells Sr. was council president and Rabbi Eugene Warnick gave some stirring words.
IWT, and at that time supported what most likely was a nonbinding resolution to support the Sanctuary City position.

    6. Obviously this was before the turn of the century.
Rabbi Warnick left the Allentown Temple in 2,000. Who could possibly expect the current crop of political “leaders” to remember this?
The County Executive was a baby and it would be many years before Mayor Matt would finally move to Allentown.
Besides, who cares about institutional memory?

      FORWARD!!

After 20 years of bipartisan failure and lies in the Afghanistan debacle who in their right mind looks to the government for truth, or justice?

Organizations are begging on television so that horribly wounded combat veterans can get some decent housing.

The current approval rating of the United States Congress is below 20% according to Gallup.
One can only wonder who the people are that represent the 20% of people are who approve of Congress.

  15. I am perplexed that the woman bystander who was filming this episode found the situation funny.
    That part is astonishing.
I can’t imagine seeing anything funny in this situation.
I am equally amazed that politicians on either side would pronounce judgment.
Having said that the individual political leadership in the ICE chain of command are well within the bounds of proprietary in supporting their officers in general terms.

The Minneapolis Police Department and Minnesota State Police agencies have refused to cooperate with the Federal ICE officers. Given this lack of cooperation, including downright hostility, there’s no reason why the Minneapolis or Minnesota police agencies should be involved in the pending investigation.
    None.

  16. Why the incessant need for Molovinsky on Allentown to frame this tragedy as a Red/Blue, Black and White, dichotomy? Advocating for a civil war that pits families friends and neighbors against each other is not “non-partisan”, it’s simplistic and counterproductive in every sense.

    ReplyDelete
  17. 10:14 - I fully agree, the reaction of the ICE officer was to be expected, and firing his gun at the driver was NOT a crime. The ultimate tragedy is in that a fellow human being is now deceased.

These Antifa-trained and paid by the day, protesters have gotten way out of hand by committing serious crimes leading to injury and destruction of property. Example from last night, these “protesters” breached a large Minneapolis downtown hotel they believed to be housing ICE agents (there were none housed there) and did tens of thousands of dollars in damages.

How did we get to this dangerous level of street mayhem? I think it’s because the bad actors are seldom arrested, fined, nor thrown in jail. That lax treatment needs to change NOW!

In today’s declining America, I will not be surprised if one of many compromised Judges out there at every level will find the ICE officer guilty. This way, through appeals, etc. this incident will linger in the news up through the Midterms elections in order to inflame the public against Republican leadership. Politics is BEYOND dirty business right now.
