I grew up working in a meat market. People often would buy a round steak, and ask the clerk to tenderize it. You ran it through a machine with steel teeth on opposing rollers. Those thousand perforations made the lower cost tough steak tender.
Multiple ads in the Morning Call have been tenderizing Mackenzie for next year's election. They don't really expect Mackenzie to vote against the administration's budget, but the purpose is to suggest to the voters that he's voting against their interests.
Although the Democrats won't be deciding on Mackenzie's opponent until next May, expect to receive many mailers and see many ads in the meantime. Money is no object when they attempt to turn a tough cut into hamburger.

Fear sell better than sex.
ReplyDeleteThe political ads never stopped since the last election. ads in opposition to Mackenzie on Utube have been going on since the day after the election. Must be a lot of money out there to be spent when the election is still over a year away.
ReplyDeleteProbably USAID money laundered down several times to some Democrat "non profit" promotion group.
DeleteThe Clinton’s lived by the concept of the “permanent campaign”.
DeleteThere’s vast sums of cash for campaign consultants and advertising out there, Sir.
DeleteIt’s obscene.
So sad that the Republican incumbent has money to spend and is working hard to reach out to the voters. Yes, this is a real concern. Remember "Move On" from the Clinton era? Maybe it's time to.
ReplyDeleteFunny, isn't it? A blogger whose reason for being is to 'conserve' all that is/was great about his community, tries to make minced meat over a political leader who is trying to do the same for the country as a whole.
ReplyDeletejosh@9:25: assuming you're referring to Mackenzie, I'm not trying to promote or demote him. I'm commenting about the volume of Democrat ads against him... that banner shown above was in several places on mcall.
DeletePlease, MM, it’s absolutely clear that you are diminishing someone in your remarks.
DeleteThe D Party is a dumpster fire on the local, regional and national level.
ReplyDeleteThe reality is that there is no Republican budget. I wish there was.
ReplyDeleteThere is a continuing resolution to continue to fund the government at the levels currently in place, for a relatively short term. It’s already passed the House.
Unfortunately, Senate Democrats want to shut the government down and put vital programs in jeopardy because they think it will benefit them politically.
So if you can’t visit a National Park or a program you rely on no longer is receiving funding, you can thank the democrats for shutting the government down.
a few second of search on Google found this: https://publichealth.berkeley.edu/articles/news/commentary/what-do-cuts-to-medicaid-really-mean The part I didn't hear about was the raising of the debt ceiling being raised thru this bill by 5 Trillion dollars annually. Wow, I guess we won't be hearing about how the Republicans are the party of fiscal responsibility anymore... Kidding! I've heard that the Republicans have always been happy to spend tax dollars like drunkin sailors to give more money to the top 1% and then turn around and blame the Democrats for the country's fiscal problems. Guess it's true. So who was the last president to actually have a balanced budget? Clinton.
