Muhlenberg's Big Week

With Kamala Harris having spoken at Muhlenberg, and its own poll showed her ahead, the college had a big week. Most important, save for this malcontented blogger, the recent shooting there has been forgotten.

I surmise that the shooting occurred by their football field in a game between charter schools. Surmise is the operative word because neither the college, police, city or newspaper has said or written another word about that incident. The Morning Call/Muhlenberg poll had Harris up by two. I surmise any and all polling calls made were from Muhlenberg, because the paper has no building to call from, and can't even be reached for missing newspapers.

If Kamala wins, I suppose those photos of her in Muhlenberg's Memorial Hall will become wall fixtures elsewhere in the college. If Muhlenberg's neighbors are also to win, more information about that shooting will have to be disclosed.

ADDENDUM 6:00AM:.With the decisiveness of Trump's victory, it appears that Kamala's picture won't end up in the library and administration building after all.

  1. Well, they can tear down those photos and throw them in the trash.

  2. Muhlenberg is going to cover up the story to protect its image; and Matt Tuerk is going to have his police chief cover up the story to protect his political future. City Council, which meets twice a month won’t ever have the time (or the courage) to bring the subject up and get answers, despite having two former policemen on the dais.

Perhaps the people living around Muhlenberg should be asking whether anyone in City Hall is actually looking out for THEM.

Sadly, they probably won’t and will instead vote like blind lemmings in the next municipal election. Because here in Allentown, the incompetence of our politicians is only exceeded by the ignorance of those who vote them into office.

  3. The local media man from mulenburg has always been selling allentown as well as students a sack o shit. This consortium installed the indicted one to mayor as well as turek with there unlimited non profits monies.
Today there heads are going to be exploding spewing there hate and reddericked. This is also going to be the next four years with nothing truly getting done for Americans.

  4. One of the things 'Berg has to ask itself is if backing the type of City administration Tuerk is running is putting public safety in their neighborhood in jeopardy. If it is, the ability for the school to attract students is in question and the time to stop this decline is now.

    1. I hope Muhlenberg is also re-evaluating the idea of having urban high school football games on campus. The details of the shooting have been covered up by the police (and Muhlenberg?) so College neighborhood residents still know nothing about this public safety emergency that may have been a result of having that game (rather late on a Friday night). I wouldn't be surprised if it was related.

    1. As a West End resident I agree with this. The vote on the referendum was another shocker that ought to send West End homeowners to the suburbs in droves. While the western wards generally voted NO 60 to 40 but the straight ticket Democrat voters in central Allentown were less informed and were duped by the referendum language voting Yes 70 o 30! So the residents of the West End are essentially powerless and must constantly live with the terrible political decisions of the clueless masses of straight ticket voters in the central part of Allentown. Even East and South Allentown voted YES but generally only 60 to 40. I think West End and Hamilton Park homeowners need to seriously consider bailing out ASAP.

    2. Yes, I agree the West End is on borrowed time. When I drive out past 22nd, I notice the loud muffler and rolling speaker cars in abundance which, here to fore, was rarely seen (or HEARD) much past 10th or 12th streets. As the idiots move further westward, they bring their much unappreciated behavior(s) and inconsideration(s) with them.

  6. I believe if Trump didn't win, we would have lost the country. Read the "First Turning" by Struss and Howe.

    1. I believe we have already lost the country (before Obama and Clinton) and we were clawing our way back under Trump, but lost and backtracked hugely under Biden, and we may begin the long hard claw back to normalcy... unless the idiots decide to thwart everything Trump tried to do. Understand this, folks, Trump isn't the end all answer, but he's the best shot we have!!! What we had just didn't cut the mustard, AL ALL!!!

    2. Yes, I concur, we would lose what little we have left of our country. DJT was doing his best to resurrect the flaming remains and the opposition was doing it's level headed best to squash him at every turn, BUT he still managed to get much accomplished which, on Biden's VERY FIRST DAY, he undid as much as he could. But remember, the democrats are the party of the people..... NOT!!!
I'm NOT a Trump fan, but I'm WAAAYY less of a democrat fan.

  8. Remember Council controls the rise (or fall) in the deed transfer tax. The finance director and mayor have no ability to change the rate without Council passing. My fellow Allentownians need to speak loudly to Council and STOP any attempts related to deed transfer increases. Ms Patel is salivating over the thought of that additional tax money to finance Tuerk’s agenda items.

It is time to vote anyone out that doesn’t have Allentown’s future at the forefront of all decisions they make. Change happens BEST at the local level and Allentown MUST change in City Hall desperately. If you think differently, roll the tape from Tuerk’s breakdown at the Trump event.

  9. You call half the country, Racists, Facists, Cult followers, garbage, etc. and you expect different results?! Dave Portnoy said it best, the Dems gave us no choice!!!

  10. I have degrees in Engineering and Computer Science. In 50+ years I have worked with only ONE minority person in my field. Where are the DEI people? Maybe in the 'Studies' programs??? Are these the people who can't make enough money to pay for their student loans - after more than 20 years.
