Love Letter To Allentown

Tuesday evening, at the same time the leadership of Promise Neighborhoods was having an event* at 19th and Allen Streets, across the fairgrounds at 18th and Turner Streets several people were being shot.

Among others in attendance and in denial of reality at the Promise event were mayor Matt Tuerk and Dan Bosket from Community Action, along with other assorted virtue signalers.

Hasshan Batts meanwhile has been organizing a new leadership clinic** against white supremacy, on our  funding no less.

Although Joe Biden thinks that I'm too young at 77, I have relocated into municipal Allentown as a prerequisite for a mayoral run.

  1. I’m really starting to believe that you work for Batts (or should) as much as you use your platform to talk about him

    1. No, I don't work for Batts, but if you're a taxpayer in Allentown, you do!

  2. I'd like the Mayor and Promise Neighborhoods to explain to parents of William Allen and Muhlenberg College students, parishioners at St. Catherine's and area homeowners why so many bad people are moving to Allentown and how they intend to more strongly regulate non-local slumlords who rent to these bad people that bring chaos to nice neighborhoods. The NJ based owner of this 2 unit pays less property tax than most single family homes in this neighborhood, brings bad people into the community and generates disproportionate service demands. That NJ slumlord should have some accountability here.

    1. No landlord looks for bad tenants, he is limited to what the city attracts. Furthermore, if the powers that be had their way, they would make those same tenants homeowners at our expense. molovinsky for mayor

  3. History tells us to expect nothing positive as a result of anything city government does or funds. However, there is some good news and so far, it's occurring in spite of our elected officials and their actions. Middle and upper middle class professionals, and the like are moving into town the because of the relatively low home prices here compared to the surrounding areas. But give our elected officials time, judging by the news, their ineptitude may yet screw this up.

  4. Neighborhoods full of working age, able-bodied, but government dependent recipients typically get mired in declining quality of life conditions. Violence, crime, filth, waste of resources, etc., have little, if anything, to do with white supremacy. It’s about lack of personal responsibility.

When one completely removes themself from responsibility for creating and fixing various ills around them there can be no lasting relief. The problem just worsens and spreads onto others.

From raising children to picking-up litter outside your door, the responsibility is on YOU. It is YOU who must make YOUR bed.
    Sleep well.

  5. I knew it would not take long with the ex-con Batts on the scene for this to happen, suggesting that "people of color" tend to be financially less well-off than white people, thereby establishing racial inequity as a substitute for class struggle, and to put the blame on "White Supremacy", especially with DEI advocate Matt Turek giving him support, both morally as well with public tax dollars.

The intention, of course, is that this disparity exists primarily due to racial discrimination in our society. Notably missing, however, is literally any other demographic data whatsoever beyond that binary comparison. Race hustlers do this routinely without actually showing any evidence of institutional racism.

    1. Although it is certainly fair to call Batts an advocate for CRT, my concern and campaign is focused on Public Safety, and putting all our eggs back into the police department.

    2. I agree. This constant “racism here/racism there” strategy has become tedious and boring. I try to tune it all out and feel no guilt for doing so. Organizations like Promise Neighborhoods are created to promulgate excuses like this. We need LESS excuses!

My point is this. Racism didn’t throw those food wrappers and cans outside you doorstep, and Racism isn’t preventing you or your neighbor for picking it up.

  6. In a city that has a vast majority minority population they are still talking about racism and white supremacy., ridiculous.
Also ridiculous is the claim that landlords who rent to so called undesirables. I would expect that the writer also supports anti discrimination in housing. Criminal behaviour can not be blamed on landlords. How about looking at HUD who helps to bring people to the rented housing?.

    1. Landlords will tell you, they have been told by HUD that they should be unconcerned by the poor behavior of their tenants and their adverse effects on the neighbors of the rental property.

    2. I can tell you absolutely that the same HUD that installed the undesirable tenants that destroy the same property are johnny on the spot to withhold rent payments till all the damage inflicted by the same tenants is repaired. A friend of mine fell for the HUD "promises" and then asked how many screen doors, railings and stoves he had to replace??? He also said "get 'em out" to which HUD refused to do. (They need housing, after all...) Meanwhile, if he refused to do the unwarranted repairs due to malicious tenant caused damage, HUD would continue to let the malicious tenants continue to live there while refusing payment to the landlord... a real day catch 22 situation where the owner gets the real short end of the stick... Meanwhile we're forced to pay to replace these HUD owned homes after they're destroyed by idiot tenants... ie: Hanover Acres and housing on the S 6th st hill... Correct me if I'm wrong.

  7. Is this a legitimate announcement Mr. Molovinsky is running for mayor?

    1. Not at this time, but as an independent there is more flexibility with such a decision.

  8. Mike should run for mayor, is among the few that know and care about Allentown.

  9. You could at least bring broader attention to the real problems plaguing the city. I say go for it.

  10. Yes, MM for mayor!!! I'll cast my ballot in your direction. I'm still POed you washed out the first time. Unfortunately, this town wouldn't know what to do with intelligent, honest, integrity based leadership. Allentown is too far over the cliff to be yanked back, at least in what remains of my lifetime.
This sure isn't my parent's Allentown.
