A Third Choice For The 7th Congressional District

Come November, some local voters may notice that they have a third choice for their United States Congressman,  Libertarian Tim Silfies.  I say may notice, because too many people vote straight party, like good trained zombies.

This particular election will even be tougher for those on the third ticket, because the election is being billed as a referendum on Donald Trump.  Needless to say that the only valid basis for decision should be the differences between Nothstein, Wild and Silfies on the issues.  However, with all the outside money going into this election, that basis will be more obscure than usual.  Single issue groups,  such as Emily's List, will be heavy influencers.  Emily's List financially  supports pro-choice Democratic women for office.... not even pro-choice Democratic men.  They were a big factor in Wild's primary victory over Morganelli, and may again be a big factor in November.

Regardless of the outcome,  I commend Silfies for giving the voters another option.

  1. Not a Democrat, not a Republican, not a serious candidate. Sorry to be so blunt but it is the truth, anyone hoping to seek an elective office needs to do it through one of the rwo major parties.

  2. I would however be interested to know where this candidate stands on the issues and where he votes. If he was on the right side of the issues( as I see them) I would be happy to help him run for office as a Republican in the future.

  3. We have seen so many elections decided by the votes to third parties. As a conservative voter, I can't risk losing a Republican 'seat' to a Pawlawski psychophant like Susan Wild. There are as many flavors of Libertarian as there are HoJo ice cream, so that label says nothing. I know his parents and that commends Tim well. Frankly, without a detailed position paper, I can't run the risk of a Pelosi-lead House. Marty is my guy, espeically after the Morning Call hit piece that dribbled away.

  4. Is he really giving the voters another option?

His positions are very similar to Nothstein, and Silfies has no chance to win under the two-party system (not defending that, just stating the obvious).

Simply put, Silfies is there to try to draw votes away from the Republican candidate.

The only question is whether he's doing it at the behest of the democrats, for his own ego, or both.

Nobody is falling for what Silfies is selling. Voters already have a VERY clear choice in November.

  5. Clear choice all right: choose between a complete lunkhead and an unknown "community leader" who recently seems to have adopted the silliest positions of the progressive wing of the Democratic party.

  6. I just viewed Ms. Wild's campaign site. She appears to be on the far-left on all the issues
