Knock and Drag in Allentown

The Democrats started it years ago in large urban centers. They hire workers, or solicit union volunteers, to go door to door, dragging voters to the booth. Yesterday, center city doors in Allentown were hung with reminders to vote. Here's yesterday's email blast from the local Democratic machine.
.November 4,2013 NEWS ADVISORY PA AUDITOR GENERAL EUGENE DePASQUALE TO JOIN GET OUT THE VOTE RALLY AT MAIN GATE TONIGHT Pennsylvania Auditor General Eugene DePasquale will join local Lehigh County Democrats tonight at their “Get Out The Vote” Rally which starts at 6 p.m. at the Main Gate in Allentown. Local Democratic elected officials, candidates, and community organizers will be on hand to energize and encourage democrats to get as many voters to the polls tomorrow as possible.
With the excuse of voter suppression, we now have the absurdity of no voter ID required.  Combine no ID with knock and drag,  the potential for voter manipulation, if not outright fraud, is overwhelming, with no method of verification in place.

  1. Canvassing neighborhoods to get out the vote is core political speech, protected by the First Amendment. It is a cornerstone our democracy. On the basis of this ridiculous blog, no one from either side should be able to "manipulate" voters by going door to door. Next, you'd be arguing against the mailers, too. next we'd outlaw political blogs. Under your ill-considered thinking, Mike Schware and Scott Ott manipulated voters this past weekend bc they were canvassing, too.

Your real objection is that Democrats just do a better job of GOTV. Instead of trying to improve, you deride democracy.

You are like Eeyore in Winnie the Pooh, negative about everything.

  2. there is a difference between knock and drag and campaigning. if you want to talk about negative, read the flyers that muller sent out, or the distortions you have been writing for weeks.

I told you, the dark side has consumed Bernie. He has become irrationaly lost due to his hatred of everything Ott. The hypocrisy of his rants only point out his exteremist view that bigger and bloated government is somehow better. It is hopeless. Good luck my fair minded friend.

  4. @11:56, bernie thinks that when they worked to get votes for gracedale they were goons, now that they're working to get votes for muller, they're volunteers in democracy. furthermore, he now says that this statement is dishonest on my part, because he always believed that many people of goodwill supported gracedale. i do recall him checking each signature, and filing a lawsuit about them.

  5. I'm hoping voter id will finally get court approval.

I don't know it it's true or just BS, but people brag about voting in multiple districts. One person I heard say she moved a couple times and had the ability to vote in each location.

I don't understand the claim that people don't have id. You can't cash a check, get medical care or travel without id. Gov't benefits all require id.

  6. @12:32, i vote at a poll, that few, if any, people walk to. i inquired, and a number of people this morning refused to show ID., i assume only out of defiance. yes, i agree that they all have ID for the freebies.

  7. I think the real absurdity is the ability for each candidate / organization to pay $100.00 to each person they recruit to "work the polls". It's a normal procedure but has people waving signs and passing out paraphanelia for the money NOT because they believe in the candidate but because of the money they are guaranteed. Meanwhile lesser known candidates who have TRUE volunteers are left lacking. When I ran for city council 2 of my volunteers were approached by two individuals and asked how much they were being paid to promote my candidacy on election day. When they replied "Nothing", they told them that they had a phone number they could call that would guarantee them $100.00 if they went and passed out leaflets for the rival candidates. Money in politics cannot equal true democracy....
