Morning Call Manipulation

Today I received quite an education. No less than 20 people commented they saw my photograph, at least five of which where total strangers. As a candidate for mayor in 2005, my photograph never appeared in the Morning Call, not even once. The reporter assigned to the election, a Pawlowski fan, went as far as not covering my news conferences or group rallies. Although my photo was accidentally on the front page this morning, it now resides at the end of the Mcall gallery section, an oblivious editorial decision. To be honest, as a third generation Allentownian, I still think it's too good of a city to throw away for the political expediency of a Chicago politician. Don't rule me out for 2009.

  1. Any truth to the rumor that Bernie O'Hare will be your chief of staff?

Seriously, go for it! Damn city needs people from here who care about here. We're overrun by carpetbaggers and crap from New York and it isn't working.

  2. I'd say go for it, too, and have all kinds of advice on how you can lock this thing up. But I have one warning - I am a complete idiot when it comes to the mechanics of running a campaign. I have ruined many a local campaign and am generally regarded as the "kiss of death" to anyone seeking office. So I intend to support Pawlowski.

  3. Yes, it was an editorial decision. You are not as important as Tim Russert.

  4. i fully agree that i'm not as important as mr. russert. what i was referring to was their daily photo journal, which placed my photo at the end of the daily list, in spite of having been on the front page. to never have published the photo of a mayoral candidate during 20 months of the campaign was a deliberate attempt to hinder my candidacy.

  5. I'm "two for two" in political ad campaigns (i.e., I've done two and won both of them) and would be happy to help ...

  7. "I'm good at party planning!"

How about Republican Party planning? Or would it be Independent Party planning?

  8. i probably wouldn't make a decision till early in 09. i wouldn't run again as an independent. it appears as if the paper is conspiring with the administration to under-report crime, certainly gunfire, to the determent of the public's safety.
