Zorro or Zero
The local, liberal dominated blogosphere, is mostly people who post signing anonymous or use some nomenciature such as urban fighter. In debating the merits of a local remodeling project recently, my adversary morphed into a sought after authority on urban renewal; one would think such a self employed professional would want to use his name for promotion. Another, although not working for the local government, claims he works in something related. The urban fighters are brave indeed, they call you liar, fake, and phony. They think their Zorro, but until they at least use their own name, they will never be more than zero.

MM,
ReplyDeleteNo one, left or right, should use anonymity as a platform from which to launch a personal attac.
bernie, i'm sorry, but i don't think i ever experienced as much distortion and attack as i have from your bunch, and i have been a upstream salmon for a long time. they are a culture of cowards, you can't think all these anons work for the city, county or state?
ReplyDeleteSome of the comments directed at you have been cruel and unnecessarily personal. And you're right to take offense at that. But in this venue, no matter whether you are on the right or left, you will be forced to defend your opinions. You can't just make a bold pronouncement like you did about A-town city jobs, w/o backing it up. If you can't do that, expect to have your head handed to you. This ain't talk radio.
ReplyDeleteHi, this is the number one Zero here, and I own several pairs of pimps. Right now I am putting on my "Kick a misogynist pig in the crotch" pumps.
ReplyDeleteIt's rough out here in cyberspace, this isn't some online gig where you can pretend you are zorro and all of us poor damsels need rescuing.
Antonio Banderas you aren't!
Cowards stay silent, we don't.
It's been my experience that those who make broad judgements, like pronouncing who the "cowards" are, usually do so to draw attention from their own inadequacies, such as your continuing to back up anything you say with fact.
dear p.o'd, no, i don't think i'm zorro, i think the anons do. also, i'm not a misogynist. as matter of fact, i don't even approve of the words and thoughts you use, i only leave your post because it refers to other sites where i have been given a voice
ReplyDeletebernie, i identified it as a rumor(secret) and stated it couldn't be confirmed.( in next comment). Casey called the last person in the world who would admit it, and then headlined despairing comments about me. He now falsely implies a city council inquiry resulted from my comments, while in reality it resulted from the same rumors i had previously heard, and indicates how widespread they were. i respect hard fights, but distortions, spinning and outright fabricating are things i cannot respect.
ReplyDeleteMM,
ReplyDeleteYou're no misogynist, and the earlier somments are exactly what I'm talking about. It's wrong for someone, male or female, Dem or Rep, right or left, to twist your words in order to justify a personal attack.
MM, just to let you know, I enjoy your blog. I also never wrote that it had anything to do with an investigation being started. People read these things MM, and they use them as they see fit.
ReplyDeletePawlowski is a public figure and open to criticism, but expect that criticism to be answered.
I don't live in Allentown either, but as I've written before, the health of the city is dependent on the health of the burbs, and vice versa.
You are prety harsh on Pawlowski, as is your right, but a poverty magnet in Overlook? Sometimes I question just who does benefit from perpetuating the cycle of poverty. I don't believe anyone really does.
Chris, perhaps my paranoia prescription is overdue, but you sort of twisted around about msm and phone calls, suggesting that the investigation may have started from my remark. I made inquires about who said what at city council, and I can assure you those who bought up the subject had no knowledge of my comment. I would have preferred if you have perceived my posting as an insider tip as to what was going around town, as opposed to a BASELESS ACCUSATION OF CRAP. As far as being hard on Pawlowski, I sat next to him dozens of times during the campaign and only want to hold him accountable to really improving Allentown. What more could a politician hope for than his strongest criticism coming from a one man band. Most Allentownians live in row houses considerably older than Hanover Acres. Besides the Housing Authority being so flush with cash, there was no reason what so ever to rebuilt that project.
