Yesterday, I claimed that I was going to become more fashionable, but little did I know that I was only a few hours away from an identity crisis.
Long time readers of this blog have been recently accusing me of TDS. Seems like my questioning of Trump, and especially his cabinet picks, didn't resonate well with them. I always labeled myself as an independent, so this new criticism of me was almost complimentary. In addition to the blog, I'm also an administrator of a Facebook group. A member there accused me of pushing my rightwing politics when I posted a link to the Amanda Seyfried post. He said my explanation that she was an Allentonian was a BS excuse, and he left the group. So by noon, I was a liberal here, and a Trumper there...But, it got more confusing. I commented on a national site, and a reader stated that I was a Democratic Socialist, using a fake Russian sounding name for emphasis. Who am I?
Meanwhile, back here in the blogosphere, I was again changing the name of my other blog back to its original title. I'm always annoyed by the verification process all the offices use now. I get an email that I have a message from LVHN. I go to their site, and I have to get another email with a verification number to read the message. The message is wishing me a calm year...We'll see.
You must also remember that MAGA is a cult that supports President Trump. They are unquestionably loyal to Donald J. Trump and worship the ground he stands on, the air he breathes, and every word he says is considered almost to be scripture.

This basically being whatever Trump thinks, as their followers, everyone must think in exactly the same way on every view or position that Trump has. If anyone dares to think differently or disagree with the group thinking of MAGA, then you are accused that you must suffer from Trump Derangement Syndrome (TDS) and you are considered a leftist lunatic and are un-American, and therefore you must be a liberal and a Democrat. No matter what your political views actually are.
As most people are capable of independent thought and can view events as either good or bad for our nation, being what President Nixon called "The Silent Majority", this catagorizes MAGA as in reality being a fringe extremist group, to the political right of most people along with other fringe right-wing groups such as the John Birch Society
I am proud to be a conservitive, and a member of that Silent Majority that both Nixon as well as President Reagan appealed to in their 49-state majority re-elections in 1972 and 1984 respectfully.
Trump, on the other hand did recieve majorities in the electoral college in his 2016 and 2024 elections, however his majorities can not be considered mandates compared to what Nixon and Reagan recieved in their re-election victories.
Mr. Moll, sir, Nixon and Reagan may have received larger voter mandates than Trump but Trumps impact on the body politic has been much more pronounced than even Nixon or Reagan.

DeleteBrent@1:34: Readers are always accusing me of watching one cable network or another. In truth my economy package has none of them. However, last night as a guest I did see Laura Ingraham on Fox news. It could have been a parody.from SNL, which I also don't see. She thinks (or at least pretends to) that Trump is Churchhill, saving America.
ReplyDeleteActually I tend to avoid the news networks. One side or the other going on and on about their opinons on whatever is happening. I don't want to hear the views of the broadcasters, I would want to hear the news without the opinons added.
DeleteThis is why I prefer the History channel so I can learn how people changed the world with their inventions, or if they will ever find buried gold in Nova Scotia or if the man in rural texas will sell his collection of movie posters, or even if the pawn shop in Las Vegas will buy the 18th century book someone wants to pawn for some money.
That is far more entertaining than listeniing to a commontator denouncing the Democrats or another commontator wailing about how Trump is so terrible throwing illegal ailens out of the country
I got sick of all that several years ago, and I also have gotten sick of the political sites online. There is so much more to life and politics.

ReplyDeleteWe shall see. From what I've read, the dictator unlawfully took over American-owned oil facilities. Also, Maduro is the leader of one of the biggest drug cartels in the world. Thousands of people down there are cheering on the streets. I'm cheering, too, because the international drug trade has killed hundreds of millions Americans.
