Up to very recently, I was fairly well accepted as a geniune independent conservative. When I ran as a independent in the 2005 mayoral race, I was shunned by the Morning Call for my appreciation of an older Allentown. They never even printed my picture, and excluded me from their debate. Move ahead nine years, and I ran again as an independent, for state representative.
This blog was instrumental in pointing out shenanigans in the Pawlowski administration. This blog has been instrumental in pointing out the inequities of the NIZ. Local Republicans had been complimenting my efforts for two decades.
However, now that I began to ponder what I consider Trump's flawed administration, I am coco puffs, I am a victim of fake news. Actually, that term and concept is another Trump flaw. There has always been a wide menu of news, from the conservative Manchester Union, to the liberal NY Times. But Trump declared that anything critical of him is fake, and his minions now repeat it like a mantra. If you don't drink the cool-aid, you must have TDS. They justify it when he calls reporters fat or ugly, if he doesn't like their question.
On day one he closed the border, and that was good. However, the problem has been since day two.
I'm not here to be polite or popular

ReplyDeleteDo you agree all any one of us can do here is to repeat what someone/someplace else said? If that source was not accurate by accident, or on purpose, then we received an untruthful message. Such incorrect information is, in a manner of speaking "Fake News."
Every Blog commenting section should be expected to receive an objection to what the Blog is broadcasting in error. Those commenters frequently correct the error made by the Blogger. You really should be open to that . . . . but you're not.
If one isn't brought closer to the truth here, then why visit here at all?
There REALLY is fake news.
ReplyDeleteIt's everywhere! You just can't pick-up any talking point and run with it as truth. In too many cases, it is NOT unimpeachable truth.
DeleteI'm not here to be polite or popular. I'm here to debase my once popular, conservative, independent blog. MM
ReplyDeleteanon@6:33: I never hesitate to print objections to my posts. I do however refrain from multiple submissions from the same person saying their opinion in slightly different ways.
ReplyDeleteanon@7:05: years ago there was the national inquirer, etc at grocery store checkouts, with articles about men from mars, that was fake news. Today, granted many sources have an agenda, usually progressive or conservative. It seems to me that Trump has taken to call anything he disagrees with "fake"
anon@7:05: readership is optional. I've always been motivated by those issues which I think need improvement, and consequently offended those people who feel the situation is fine as is.
You never hesitate to employ censorship.
DeleteReadership is obviously optional. There are few reasons to opt in to MOLOVINSKY ON ALLENTOWN any longer. Reading this stuff that is available 24/7 on the MSM just diminishes your wonderful body of work.
ReplyDeleteHow very sad.
Good luck earning money per click when half your of 20 participating visitors walk away.
