The Onerous Job Of Defending Trump

Some of the hardest working people in the country today are those defending Donald Trump's inconsistent, perhaps irrational, proclamations. One moment he is condoning double tap attacks on civilian boats; the next, pardoning a former Honduran Drug President.

From Karoline Leavitt in the press room, to partisans commenting on this blog, it's not easy to triple talk. For Karoline, it is her career; for the partisans, it's the Alamo. They know if they slightly concede that Trump is irrational, as everyone else in the world knows, the Republicans will be reduced to proverbial dog catchers in the upcoming elections.

I'm afraid for them, that reduction of power is coming, and the only thing left to save is their credibility. I'm expecting the disconnect with Trump to come very soon, in time for the midterms. I'm hoping that the elected Republicans who represent me here in Kentuckylvania have that much sense.

I'm not here to be polite or popular

  2. Meanwhile, according to the American Farm Bureau Federation, the average cost of Thanksgiving dinner was down 5% in 2025 as compared to 2024.

That certainly contradicts the narrative put out by the professional liars at CNN and MSNBC (or whatever they’re calling themselves now).

I guess Trump IS dealing with inflation, with more improvements to come.

  3. Bring back Scranton Joe! The American people deserve an administration built around integrity competence and transparency again. An administration that the average citizen is happy to defend.

  4. Of course everyone is disappointed after the last administration. That act was impossible to follow.

  5. Defending President Trump is easy for those who base their opinions on his decisions on actual FACTS.

Too many anti-Trump garbage claims are being splashed all across the news media. We only get edited and censored information. Much of it deceptive, partial truths designed to create controversy, views and clicks.

Factual, verifiable data, direct and live recorded quotes, original and untampered-with official documents are available to view. But, how many people in today's America actually take the time to consider that trustworthy data? Or even find it? Not nearly enough.

There's a real possibility the make-up of the House and Senate will change in a way not beneficial to the current Trump Administration.
    I can't control that.

What I CAN do is take pride in being one of those folks who does research using trustworthy materials, secure in the knowledge I've never attempted to deceive anyone with simple, partisan talking points.

  6. Every comment above, from the four words at 12:04, to the thesis at 5:00, sing the same song. Blame the fake media, if only they told the truth, Trump would deserve all the praise he craves. Yes, we know the midterms will be a disaster for Republicans, but it is the damn fake news!!!

    1. This blog in the last few months, has become a literal example of "Fake News" PERIOD.

    2. I don't share your view our American news media is 100% accurate and trustworthy when describing President Trump and his actions. But, you be you, I suppose.

    3. G_d bless America and G_d bless our free press. We get the most accurate information and comprehensive up to date news on the planet.
The Orange Menace is an existential threat to humanity and the partisans don’t want to hear the truth.
Thank you for being a beacon of freedom M.M.

    4. For anyone returning to read here. Today, a blatant example of fake news is admitted by the New York Times. An earlier story by the Washington Post (considered by many to be a front group for our CIA) the WashingtonPost lied, by placing blame for a Venezuela narco boat shooting that killed two people on the shoulders of current Department of War Secretary Pete Hegseth.

The truth is, that strike that killed two was NOT ordered by Pete Hegseth, nor Donald Trump.

Again, I suggest each of us is very careful when repeating media talking points. Talking points that are often FALSE.

  7. While Trump may be imperfect, we can only expect the end to this experiment when the democrats again gain power.

    1. Democrats might retake control of the House and/or Senate at midterms, both a removal of Trump from office has no real chance to succeed. He will continue to face roadblocks from both Democrats and Republicans no doubt. 2028 will be huge in terms of how our nation goes forward.

    2. The Democrats don’t do policy anymore. Heck, they hardly do politics. They have become a full time theater company with a focus on comedy acts with some rage stuff like Triumph the Insult Dog once promoted.

    3. What Democrats?

  8. I gave up on the MSM when they tried to convince the American public that President Biden was sliding into dementia just because he stutters and had a cold and jet lag during the debate. In reality he was getting a little older, sure, but as sharp as a tack in meetings with his staff and totally engaged when it mattered.

  11. It’s flu season and the bug is on the rise so experts recommend getting the vaccine. As for TDS the virulent strain of the last few years is rampaging unabated. Even the formerly rational and once lucid can be struck down with the syndrome.
It is imperative we treat those affected with love and compassion.

  12. From the original post: “Some of the hardest working people in the country today are those defending Donald Trump's…”

That is from the guy who writes a blog post every weekday (including holidays) to condemn anything he can about President Trump, and then spends the rest of his day trying to counter the majority of comments that support Trump.

It would seem that if anyone is working hard, it’s you.

Maybe it’s time to look in the mirror. You’re writing about yourself.

    1. Some of Trump’s policies I support and some I take issue with. I don’t find the guy’s personality very appealing but the idea of spending every day bashing a POTUS seems a bit dull. Yeah he’s a buffoon. Hell, I thought Biden was a fool from decades ago and people can certainly make their own evaluation of Old Joes personality and performance.
      So what?
      Offer an alternative.

    1. Talk about repetitive, MM. You could write one post a week and repeat it every day. Who would know the difference?

  14. “Repetitive comments” are just people’s opinions. Frankly it’s difficult to believe that the comments are actually “repetitive”. It’s more likely that the comments are reinforcing positions that don’t support your current political views.
Are you that intimidated by disagreement?
Yes of course it’s your blog but you are demeaning yourself and diminishing your long time readers. It has the strong wiff of insecurity about it.
You hate Trump. You tell us every day.
People appreciate your blog and they take the time to respond.
You don’t have to be polite but you might treat your readers with a modicum of basic respect and have the courage of your convictions at the same time. If your views offend some, yeah, you don’t owe it to anyone to be Miss. Manners, I think your regular audience gets that, and it’s great that you have a new young reader.
Who are you trying to impress with this belligerent approach? And spare us with the bromides about partisanship.
That line has outlived its shelf life.

    1. There's also the matter of over-promoting the belief that Ryan Mackenzie will surely be defeated. That's a little premature. So why (cheerlead) slam that into the ground? A personal or business relationship gone bad, perhaps.

  15. anon@2:22: From the other 23 anonymous comments on this post, I apparently wouldn't talk any reader from not voting Republican, if that was my intention, which it is not. I have stated that I hope that he asserts himself, to avoid the widely predicted blue wave.
