While Trump made a few $Billion on cryptocurrency in a few months, the former red hats are now eating hamburger, because steak is $34.95 lb..The local partisan party hacks are bewildered, but the still standing elected Republicans know which way to move, and it's toward the center.
Trump's comment that they lost because he wasn't on the ballot further confirms the red hat meltdown. It also emphasizes that he is a Trump, not a Republican. At this point he could care less how the party fares. Adding to the Republican woe on Tuesday, were independents turning out for the Democrats, and Latinos coming back to the D house.I'm still politically homeless. I'm hoping for some moderate Republicans to emerge, although I will be skeptical of rebranded, former Trump sycophants.
I'm not here to be polite or popular

While Trump will be gone in 3 years, the candidates you love, like Charlie Dent will not be coming back. We may see some more political whipsawing, but until their are real changes in the priorities of government it will be increasingly volatile.
ReplyDeleteTrump is a rejection of the existing power structure and it will continue. Democrats may win if Republicans want to run more Bush candidates.
None of them seriously want to face the inevitable problem of the debt that will be defaulted on and the inability to provide the services and benefits promised.
The country has unsolvable problems, due to the past presidents and congress irresponsibility. It is unsustainable and no one can remedy it without more pain than this country has ever experienced.
Ray@4:41: You're much more schooled on the debt situation than me. That and other issues certainly needed repair, but in a much more workmanship manner. DOGE was a hatchet job. Tariffs are a hatchet job. ICE is theater. Trump is too impulsive, his appointees too inexperienced. I expect 2026 and 2028 to be a bloodbath for Republicans.
ReplyDeleteMAGA died the moment Trump said “Epstein who”?”
ReplyDeleteWhy won't they release the Epstein files. That's the real scandal, the guy is a rapist and yet people voted for him. Those MAGA people are just stupid or evil. People really can't stand them.
ReplyDeleteSince you’re so concerned about the prospects of republican candidates, why don’t you join the party and impart your wisdom from within.
ReplyDeleteObviously your decision to be an Independent isn’t producing the candidates you want to see.
Very annoying that pa has closed primaries, definitely makes it more sensible to register with a major party so as to participate in primaries and help choose the candidates they pick imo
DeleteI'd say the Blue Blowout in PA was more about retaining the 3 judges and the ever increasing cost of living. Many Democrats I know who vote occasionally were all jacked up over retaining the 3 judges, the Dems in PA/Governor Shapiro did a great job of mobilizing the base primarily on the abortion issue. While periodic data releases do not show large scale across the board inflation increases, the rising cost of groceries, home insurance, car insurance, taxes and utility bills are disrupting family budgets more than ever. These are all unavoidable expenses that even thrifty, budget wary Pennsylvanians cannot control or avoid paying.
ReplyDeleteyou are 100% correct to say what you said about his crypto scams, the only reason he ever ran for president was to get face time, and do his money scams. The guy is a real pig, I hate him. I don't even talk to MAGA people, even family members. Frankly they disgust me. Can't understand how they could support that creep.
ReplyDeleteTrump is the embodiment of where America is in terms of its values. Maybe think about what you’ve done to bring about those values rather than try to externalize them all on one man.
DeleteMAGA hates diversity, hates gays, hates minorities, hates, immigrants, and want to create a dictatorship run by the Trump family. Anyone who doesn't understand that isn't paying attention.
ReplyDeleteanons@6:05,6:55: Trump's womanizing was baked into the election.
ReplyDeleteanon@6:57: I'm a super voter, and most often vote Republican
anon@7:43: I believe most Lehigh Valley voters were not there for the retention vote, but rather the local choices.
anon@7:53: The Trump's certainly are not bashful about profiting from the office.
