The Morning Call bestowed a gift upon Ryan Mackenzie...The headline stated that Mackenzie DID NOT kick illegal immigrants off of Medicaid. The article goes on to explain that illegals don't get Medicaid in the first place.
The key words in this post are goes on to explain. Most people don't go on, they don't get pass the headline. The Democratic war cry against the Republicans, including Mackenzie, is that the Big Beautiful Bill will cut Medicaid to millions of people. I honestly don't know the ramificatins of the bill, but neither does the public, or most of the legislators who voted for or against it. What matters more for the upcoming elections is the headlines!
In this era of reduced newspaper reading, those digitial headlines are one of the coins of the realm. The other big currency is the mailings. Each election the mailers become more profilic and more deception.
How sad that you are so blinded by your hatred for Trump and desire to see Mackenzie turn on him, that you can't even recognize the larger lie that the Morning Call is admitting to.
ReplyDeleteDemocrats have lied for years about the true costs of their open borders policies. One of those lies is that illegals aren't illegally on Medicaid and draining funds from that program, putting it in danger. The same lie is used about illegals on social security, illegal immigration creating a housing shortage, illegals crowding our schools and driving up our school taxes, etc.).
Newsflash: They are.
But protecting THAT lie about illegals on Medicaid is more important to the mainstream media (like the Call), than damaging a congressman a year before re-election. There will be other lies that can be saved for that purpose and used closer to election time.
The fact is that the illegal immigrants on Medicaid were there fraudulently. In a sane world, the headlines in the newspapers and on this blog would be about Mackenzie fighting against fraud, waste and abuse in Medicaid, and therefore helping preserve the program for those who it is intended for.
If only we lived in a sane world.
anon@4:12: You don't get me, or the point of this post. I'm writing about Mackenzie, not "for" or "against" him.
ReplyDeleteThe only thing that counts about that post is the headline DID NOT. John Q doesn't read the article, or know much if anything about the details. So, it helps Mackenzie with liberal subscribers, because from that headline it appears as if he did NOT vote to kick anybody off medicaid.
Mike,
Deleteit’s clear that you are, in fact, very much against Mackenzie. Your position is a reflection of the corporate media-everything and everyone associated with Orange Man Bad is tainted by the association.
In using 'Gift for Mackenzie,' you suggest with this piece, the Morning Call provides some undeserved support for Mackenzie. I see this Morning Call piece differently.
DeleteHere, the Morning Call is showing a rare moment of fair and honest journalism.
For months, the Morning Call and its chief source of political news, Associated Press, have daily criticized the so-called Big, Beautiful Bill. They have been deceiving readers about the Bill with incomplete, misleading claims about its content. The effect on Medicaid is but one example.
As correctly pointed out by your first commenter, every Medicaid recipient NOT INVOLVED in waste, fraud, and abuse need not be afraid of losing their coverage.
The head of Mackenzie’s party is in Israel freeing 20 living hostages at this moment.
ReplyDeleteProbably the hardest working, most consequential American President in American history. A true leader of the free world.
Delete(but we're not supposed to notice)
anon aka 4:12, 6:15, 6:35, 8:02 & 8:27: You certainly notice!!!!! I won't be accepting anymore repetitive comments on this post, expressing the same partisan point of view.
