Trump As Biff In Back To The Future

We're in a dangerous time. We have a bully in the White House, who isn't anywhere near bright as he thinks. Back from England, he said of broadcast media,"They're 97 percent against(me); they give me only bad press. I mean, they're getting a license...I would think maybe their license should be taken away."

Ted Cruz was critical of FCC Chairman Brendan Carr's statement to networks "We can do this the easy way, or we can do this the hard way", but not exactly for the right reason. Cruz is afraid that such heavy handedness by the FCC will hurt conservatives when the Democrats come back into power.

After eight months of Trumpism, it's encouraging when somebody even suggests that the emperor has no clothes. There will be more of Cruz speaking up, because Trump will say something about the Texas senator being out of line...Trump can't help himself. Because Trump's mouth runneth over, eventually, more Republicans will put on their big boy pants...hopefully in time to repair some of the damage.

While late night comedy thrived on making fun of Biff/Trump, Trump did Jimmy Kimmel a favor. Kimmel will emerge somewhere as the official spokesman against the naked emperor. Who knows, he might even run for congress.

In the meantime, the Trump machine had a revival yesterday at Charlie Kirk's memorial service. Vance was front and center, hoping to be the heir apparent for 2028.

  1. The pendulum is swinging, the excesses of the Obama and Biden administrations are now giving power to the reverse swing, talk and accusations are not a threat to our democracy. Efforts to codify restraint of freedom of speech, I expect will result in push back by many.
There is a transition happening in media with internet podcasts etc, overtaking the media in viewership. Many big media companies are fighting for survival, much of it the result of their former bias.
Some may actually return to non-partisan objective reporting , and if they do , they may be able to survive.

    1. Jimmy Kimmel is worth every penny of the 15 million dollars he is paid every year.

  2. You have difficulty dealing with bold, decisive leaders. Leaders who don't interpret problems exactly as you do. But, you be you, and let President Trump be the same Trump he's been his entire life.

In times of difficulty, and in order to solve a problem, it is critical to first IDENTIFY the problem. Trump is fearless in pointing out good and bad as he sees it. We can agree or disagree on his assessment.

Provided President Trump stays within the limits of our Constitution (he surely has done so) I am convinced Trump is precisely the kind of courageous leader needed to combat the Socialists and Marxists who've been living inside this Democrat Party.

Correct. Trump does not wear the phony clothes we see being worn by too many in our dysfunctional Congress. Nor, those being worn by our not-so-truthful corporate news media.

President Trump is GENUINE. The real deal. The remainder of Trump's term gives me hope America can be saved from those who have been trying to overthrow our government.

  3. Thank you for posting this. Unfortunately, I see things getting a lot worse before they get better. The guy has lied or failed at nearly everything he promised to do but his demographic keeps hanging on providing him all the political capital he needs to wreck whatever he wants. A 5th grade civic’s refresher would do our country a lot of good.

    1. I soooo miss the honesty and integrity of the last past administration. You don’t know what you have until it’s gone.

  4. The American media has always had a tilt to the left and has been that way for a century or more. What I believe we are seeing is, in fact, a return to the traditonal media narritive of before the swing to the hard left by the Democrats and their media supporters.
However the hard left swing in Democratic party politics, especially after the election of Obama has been mirrored in the media as well. This has caused less and less revenue to be recieved by those who own those media companies. At the local level, just lookat the fate of Call-Chronicle newspapers after the sale of the paper from the Miller family to the national news synicate which owns it now.

In 1980, the Call and Chronicle had far more subscribers than they do now. Also, advertizing revenue was higher than now. The paper was indeed thicker and could support more correspondants and feature writers and columists. Today, the newspaper is very thin, the staff has been reduced to low-pay recent college graduates and what local news their is is mostly news releases rather than actual news reports.

National media companies that control the major networks have also been seeing advertizing revenue going down as less and less people like what they are seeing on television. We are seeing more leftist views interjected into our entertainment shows; the news departments, and late night televison has become nearly comletely political lecturing from the left.

Kimmel is no Johnny Carson or Jay Leno, whose political beliefs were unknown as they focuse on entertainment rather than politics. Saturday Night Live stopped being entertaining before the turn of the 21st century and its just politics, politics, politics now. The future of the Democratic party does not depend on the fate of a late-night show host. No matter how much the Democrats scream about him being let go.

It's all about the revenue and money. Also we are sick of politics, politics, politics 24/7, and it's all leftist poltics from the major networks.

Money talks, and those in upper management that own the networks have also been changing, and the drain of money from Disney (ABC), Paramount (CBS) and Comcast (NBC) is significant,. New investors such as Sinclar (ABC), who are more conservative are stepping in to stop the flow of money out the door.

    1. Are you mad?
Obama was center-right with a foreign policy that was a continuation of the W Bush administration.
      Hopie Changie next to nothing.
It’s astonishing how much koolaid has been drunk by seemingly normal citizens.

    3. No doubt the Morning Call has made itself a huge letdown from what older residents remember. As bad as it is, I'm not so sure those putting the current paper together can do much about it. The overlords at Tribune just wouldn't permit it.

Perhaps the Call could choose to print different, paid by the word columnists beyond just those willing to 'play along' for a meager supplemental check in their retirement. I couldn't lower myself in that way.

Also, choose to run a more balanced amount of reader Letters to the Editor. There simply HAS to be more than a couple Conservative viewpoints per week coming in. We just don't get to see those.

We are still a full print subscriber. One member of this household is oblivious to national politics and still enjoys a traditional, short sit down read with morning coffee.

I could do without the Morning Call completely. It's insulting to the knowledge I gain visiting more reliable and trustworthy independent media sites online.

  5. The machine/Deep State, whoever, third to ruin him, destroy him, jail him, hang treasonous accusations around his neck , accuse him of collaboration with the enemy and kill him twice, leaving him millimeters from the Great Beyond. Now he’s buried the remains of his surrogate son after he was grotesquely slaughtered in a public spectacle beyond imagination, live on television.
An obscene corporate jester tells the national audience that young husband and father was assassinated by MAGA, now using the death for their own political advantage.
    It’s free speech.
Yes, how dare the great unwashed indulge in ritual grief. How dare the Orange Fascist react with a petulant, if subdued, bluster.
Does anyone wonder if the grieving unwashed, unlettered and unwoke masses will torch American cities?
Perhaps they will be satisfied with wearing their crosses.
How will Hollywood and the courageous leadership of the Democratic Party respond?
How will the “trans community” react?
Will gender affirming care be impacted?
Dare anyone mention the word Mormon in any context, any context whatsoever?
In the meantime Molovinsky on Allentown throws the light of a little virtue on occasion.

  6. I’m hoping for a Harris/Wentz return.
If only they had a little more time and a little more money things would be so much different today.
It always seem the darkest just before the dawn. Better days are just around the corner. The forces of goodness and light will be holding the reins of power again and soon.
    A better America will reemerge.
    Forward.

  9. Trump again wasted his opportunity to unify and chose to incite hate. Just as he did on January 6th. He’s a sad dope who hides behind Christianity, money, and gold gild. His shallow values have empowered his followers. He is a cult. Miller is scary and very much looks the part. In the Lehigh Valley we have a puppet congressman who has abdicated any leadership and spends his time on photo ops. Trump declares war on half of America, he’s going to punish us. I’m ashamed of how low he has taken us.

I long for the days when BLM brought the country together and instead of a crackdown on illegal immigrates there was a crackhead in the White House.
