SpaceX and Mar-a-Lago

Chronic readers of this blog know that last year I revealed that molovinsky on allentown also maintains a low-rent office near the Space Coast in Florida. While not actually on the coast, it's close enough that I can see Musk's rockets taking off, and they take off several times a week. Consequently, they are a large part of the economy on the eastern side of central Florida.

Trump has been saying that if Musk doesn't shut his yapper,, there will be a price to pay. While it's true that SpaceX rakes $Billions from the government contracts, there is no competitor that can provide service anywhere near as safe and/or reliable. SpaceX actually softly lands its reusable rockets on the middle of a barge in the ocean. Last time anyone saw something like that was Flash Gordon make-believe in 1950. Even if Trump and Musk end up in the ring on McMahon's wrestling show, we'll still need SpaceX.

The pundits are saying that Trump won and Musk loses. Musk says that Trump is around for 3.5 more years, but he has 40 to go. I think Musk gives Trump's influence too long, it will be over by the mid-terms.

  1. Musk is right in his disillusionment on the budget. He is new to the realities of Washington. Every person who gets involved in politics soon realizes the complexity involved. I suspect they will eventually make peace.

  2. The show the Democrats have been putting on in Los Angeles for the past few nights I sus[ect have driven more than a few to want to join the Republican party.

Trying to convince people that it's all Trump's falt that these professional adjatators are upset because of his efforts to deport illegals and seeing images of them breaking up concrete sidewalks is because of Tump forcing them to throw concrete at the police is not doing their cause any good.

Expect to see more Democratic riots like this in other cities as the summer heats up... this "Summer of peaceful protests" ..

  3. The Democrat party has given themselves over to people/forces/movements from countries or ideologies that intend to do real harm to the USA, our citizens and our way of life. Instead of fighting for the American people and our way of life, Democrats aid these violent insurrectionists and obstruct their suppression. In my opinion, this is not a good way to win favor with the majority of American voters. The full force of American law enforcement should be quickly and effectively brought down upon violent rioters in any cities to maintain law and order. Destruction of personal or public property is not peaceful protest. For those who disagree with any government policy, there are ample elective channels and numerous peaceful means to express their views and/or to effect policy changes to those that represent their views. If you want to participate, welcome, if you want to destroy, beware.

  4. I realize that it's not what they're telling you on CNN and MSNBC, but Trump and Musk both seem to have smoothed things over and moved on.

Much like the stock market collapse, inflation in general, the price of eggs, and other end-of-the world predictions that didn't come true, I suspect that the reason MSNBC and CNN are continuing to push the Trump/Musk stories is to avoid having to "report" on the democrat party's war on law enforcement and the democrats' ongoing support for criminal illegal aliens.

Time to turn the channel, Mike.

  5. The USA obviously needs SpaceX right now but I fail to understand why the US, SpaceX or for that matter Tesla continue to need Musk. He formerly contributed an ability to arrange financing for higher risk innovative businesses using sales of stock. In the past he cleverly built his own brand using the technical talents of others to develop useful products and services while he exaggerated his supposed own genius as the basis for the company success. As he increasing appears to be personally unstable and his companies no longer seem to be immune from business setbacks, I wonder what his future rationale will be to encourage investors to support his financial schemes if his own brand name continues to diminish.

    1. The US needs SpaceX because we don't have a way of getting astronauts to the ISS with any NASA rockets. Musk said that he was going to cancel the contract he has wiith the US for NASA and US government satellite launches.

You have to remember that both Trump and Musk have egos the size of the Hindenburg and get offended easily when they don't get what they want. Also Trump, and I also suspect Musk tend to say stupid things also when their egos are bruised.

Now that they've both said their stupid things and gone off to their respective corners I suspect they are going to come to terms with each other, but don't expect to see Musk in the Oval Office like he was before as some kind of un-elected co-president. Trump knows the US needs Musk's rockets and Musk needs the US contracts.

  6. Elon does have some minor mental health and emotional issues due to medicines he takes. He’s even discussed that publicly. Explosive outbursts are part of that. Through it all, he’s been very good for America and I hope things will settle down enough for him to continue making America a better place.
