There were two gunfire incidents last weekend on the east side. Police Chief Roca said The actions that are committed by people in this incident do not reflect the hard working people of Allentown. Maybe they don't reflect the hardworking people, but they do reflect too many others. In regard to a new basketball court being built at Stevens Park, Mayor Tuerk said (we can) start rebuilding trust...
Last week Allentown unanimously passed an anti-discrimination ordinance, despite that the last discrimination incident was staged by the victim. Seemingly, there are no longer any officials or institutions in Allentown interested in candor. Motivation appears limited to electability and inclusion and trust, even if it's including the wrong people or having the wrong result.
I'm just a simple small town pizza blogger, who thinks that a city hall should be preoccupied more with public safety, and less with inclusion and trust.

The gunfire might not reflect the “hard working people of Allentown”, but they absolutely reflect the failed policies of the Mayor and the people those policies attract. When you ignore ‘little things’ like noise, zoning and quality-of-life issues, this the inevitable result. And it’s not going to get better as the mayor crowds more people into neighborhoods built for far fewer people.
ReplyDeleteThe people of Allentown should realize that it’s only going to get worse under Tuerk.
The only reason we’re talking about people being injured by gunfire and not killed by gunfire is because of a lack of marksmanship, not a lack of effort.
If there appears to be a problem , appear to find a solution.
ReplyDeleteThe number of hard working people in Allentown appears to diminish year by year. The trauma surgeons are hard at work and always getting better at their craft.
ReplyDeleteThank goodness Promise Neighborhoods is still hard at work even if Doctor Batts has moved on to other endeavors.
Oh Lord. How did Allentown survive for over 200 years without the race hustlers like Baats. The hard-working intelligent whites left long ago for the townships and places where the crime is a lot less and the community is much less Diverse.
DeleteWe live in a world both domestically and around the world that somehow believes that the narrative will become reality. Only actual sound judgment and action can change reality not just the narrative.
ReplyDeleteMy thoughts right now are with the Allentown Police officers and first responders who could very soon be faced with the growing civil disobedience, rioting, and looting that is ramping-up in cities across America as I write this.
ReplyDeleteAlthough left-leaning news media will do its best to hide/downplay these disgusting outbursts that are breaking out in mostly Democrat controlled cities, plenty of video is available on the internet.
Allentown is NOT immune from this. Hopefully, the Allentown Mayor and his officials will get out in front of this risk by publicly stating their disproval of such behavior and cautioning residents not to take part, as violators WILL be quickly arrested and charged.
Hopefully, our brave men and women in uniform will receive all the support they need. Your call, Mr. Mayor.
I reluctantly printed 6:59, no more comments pertaining to LA will be printed.
DeleteYou certainly wouldn't know there were shootings or shots fired incidents when the public portal meant to convey such information is missing said incidents. At least one of them, which seems to be an ongoing issue since the portal went live.
ReplyDeleteIt staggers the imagination to think of the number of shootings Allentown would have without Promise Neighborhoods on the job and Mayor Matts steady hand on the tiller.
ReplyDeleteChief Roca isn't a leader. He has no idea what he is doing. Apd lies about crime stats. The officers dont want to work for him either. Don't expect their to be a shortage of shootings, and the summer of mayhem is just starting. Don't worry, promote a guy who promoted Sgt. Diehl to captain after he forged a search warrant. Worse yet Det. Graves testified that he told Roca about the theft and he did nothing. And people think the thieves and criminals are on the street? Its all in the police department. Until Chief Roca, and his band of incompetent command staff leave, do not expect crime to go down or production from the officers to happen.
ReplyDeleteChief Roca does nothing to prevent any shootings. Now today we had a drowning victim, tho he and Mayor Tuerk will say the parks are safe. The summer is going to be awful for Apd.
ReplyDeleteWell, today they announced a new basketball court for Stevens park... how much would you like to bet it will be a gathering place for gang types and be a fairly constant problem for our police?... not to mention the folks that have to endure the (predicted) on going problems...
