Trump's speech on Friday afternoon should have had every lawyer there mortified. Imagine, the President of the United States inferring legal retribution against his perceived political enemies, at the Department of Justice no less! I understand that our 47th felt that the department was weaponized against him, but now he wants to wield the weapon?
The speech also reflected poorly on Pam Bondi, but her introduction of Trump suggested she is not overly encumbered by such shame. As Trump's campaign song by the Village People played at the end, it was clear that this man hasn't moved beyond the campaign. John Bolton says that Trump is purely transactional, and not interested in anything besides his own scores to settle. It's as if the country's future is being scored on a small golf card.
Trump started his speech wondering if it was inappropriate for him to be there? That ended up being the most appropriate part of his speech. He told the assembled Justice employees that their department was just recently crooked and corrupt. He attacked the press, even the conservative Wall Street Journal, calling reporters scum. It will be interesting to see how long his appointees are willing to compromise their own legacies.
I love John Bolton, but then I have a real affinity for all neo-cons.
ReplyDeleteGolly, the WSJ,the NYTimes of the old money set,is in a dust up with the Real Estate Guy from Queens?
ReplyDeleteWho woulda thunk it? On top of all that the DOJ is getting a deep cleaning.
My oh,my oh,Americans get what they voted for.
Astonishing!
First thing he needs to do with Justice is have them issue RINO hunting permits and install public stockades for them to be displayed in lets start with Liz Cheney and Lisa Murkowski then have the Army Corp design. A 100 yard ducking stool to operate alongside the Potomac where said RINOS can be baptized and cleansed after their time in the stocks
ReplyDeleteCorrection instead of stocks it should have been pillory, the RINO scum's myriad misdeeds merit maximum humiliation, eggs rotten tomatoes and cow pies should be provided to the jeering MAGA faithful for a barrage of collective punishment!
DeleteThere is overwhelming evidence our Justice Department in many ways IS corrupt. A big overhaul there is sorely needed.
ReplyDeleteAs for the major news media, lots of anti-American rot there too. With other options available now, Americans are rejecting many of the ‘old guard’ in favor of more independent thinkers not blinded by government propaganda paid for with our own tax dollars. See USAID for details.
Listening to John Bolton is like reading this blog. Trivial.
ReplyDeleteJohn Bolton is a neocon war monger who recently had his special security access revoked by Trump. I would expect Bolton to be unhappy.
ReplyDeleteTrump speaking at the DOJ was a national embarrassment. A felon has a problem with the justice system? He feels he has been treated unfairly. What did we expect? He has a free pass from the Supreme Court. Did we expect him not to use it? The pumped in music added to the cheesy-ness, like an Atlantic City presentation. And Bondi- dressed for— I don’t know what, but not as the top lawyer representing the people of United States. But he was clear, it’s war on judges. Trump’s corruption is out in the public and his hate for the un-corruptible is equally visible.
ReplyDelete8:39 - I have to smile every time I see someone write that Trump is a "felon" or "convicted felon".
DeleteYes, the democrats found a prosecutor and judge in a favorable jurisdiction and managed a flimsy conviction on some obviously fabricated charges. All of that was done so they could campaign on Trump being a "convicted felon".
How'd that work out for you?
Meanwhile, in somewhat unrelated news:
DeleteAccording to an NBC News poll, Trump is at his highest approval ever, and for the first time since 2004 more people think the country is headed in the right direction.
Meanwhile, lawmakers in one state are trying to have Trump Derangement Syndrome (TDS) as a mental illness.
Just a reminder; Trump is a felon as decided by a jury, not a judge.
DeleteMike! Have you been in a news blackout since 2015? Do the words, "Crossfire Hurricane", Steale dossier, Muller Investigation, ....mean anything to you? These all involved the US Justice Department. That's just the first term, the post presidency was even worse. The Democrats weaponized the Justice Department against their political enemies and it wasn't just Trump. Peaceful Pro Life protesters were thrown in federal prisons with lengthy prison terms, J-6 protesters who merely walked into the capital through open doors were hounded and had their lives destroyed, FBI whisle blowers who under the law are supposed to be protected weren't and were instead punished and their lives and careers ruined. This is just the tip of the iceberg, I'm not at all sure all this was ever as much of a concern to you has Trump's recent announcement that he now has an attorney general who will clean house at the Justice Department and end the 3rd world style, partisan weaponization of our justice system. All Americans should celebrate this return of the rule of law. None the less, the left's fear, loathing, and smear campaign against Trump continues, and will continue for political reasons. The sewer of ugly, henious accusations spews on. What's new? However, at this point, people are asking, who is still buying it?
ReplyDeleteI cannot even tell you how many times Pam Bondi thanked Donald Trump during her introduction on Friday, and said that they (Justice Department) will never stop FIGHTING for HIM.
ReplyDeleteRegardless of partisan politics, her introduction was inappropriate for both her position and department.
Oh, stop! Every recently hired manager, no matter how small the firm, from bagel shop to Attorney General will say to their boss “I’ll never stop working hard for you.” No different!
DeleteActually, President Trump repeatedly tells his employers (American citizens) the same thing!
Chew on this my maga friends. Trump is nothing more than a Leona Helmsley in male drag. At least she had the stones so to speak to face up to her and her husband's company crimes.
ReplyDelete10:44 so predictable, so boring. Sorry, nothing personal can any Democrat respond with an argument instead of insult. It would be a refreshing change and raise the tempo of discourse out of the gutter.
