UPDATE January 30,2018: Last evening I attended an early kickoff for Ce-Ce's campaign for Allentown City Council in 2019. I've known Ce-Ce for years, and am glad to see her again offering her time and energy to Allentown. In this sorry time we need people with her sincerity and integrity.
In regards to this sorry time, it's my understanding that the prosecution against Pawlowski had a strong showing in court yesterday. Numerous witnesses, including former city employees, described bid rigging and a pay to play culture. Supposedly, the defense attorney seemed exasperated, and Pawlowski himself somewhat forlorn.
ADDENDUM MAY 30, 2023: This post harks back to 2013. Over the last ten years I have posted often about Ce-Ce. While she was trying to raise money for student uniforms back then, they have just become optional. While her progressive politics didn't earn my endorsement for the recent primary, come November Ce-Ce will certainly retain her City Council seat.
Show above is the street party she organized in 2013. She is speaking with a member of the Buffalo Soldiers, a Black motorcycle club which visited the event.
ADDENDUM FEBRUARY 5, 2025: Someone recently assumed that I didn't like Ce-Ce. On the contrary, I like her a lot. However, I couldn't be more opposed to some of her recent politics. One such initiative of hers is coming to vote tonight at city council....The Welcoming City Designation. At a time when gang members from Venezuela are being located and arrested, this would be a designation that Allentown surely doesn't need.
Mike, it best to be kind with our fellow man/women. This said, one need to be publicly honest about public officials in order that the voters know when perceived sincerity and concern is in reality just a ruse to cover craven ambition. I served along side Ce-Ce on the ASD board for 4 years. At first I took her charm and innocence routine at face value, in time I realized it was just a cover for just one more grasping politician who tells people what she believes they want to hear then moves forward on what she believes is politically expedient for herself. I can provide you offline the name of someone who bought what she said and now regrets it. Long story short, she isn't the only self serving, manipulative, dishonest politician around, but she is the local one who believes the radical left agenda will get her where she wants to go. WE should all be wary of this council person who wants to take us/Allentown where we don't want to go. That would be a mini version of Denver, Portland Or, Seattle,...
ReplyDeleteI won’t comment on Gerlach’s motives or intellect, but her policy positions are what’s killing the city. Even when she occasionally stumbles onto the right position, there’s no logic or sense of the greater good behind it.
ReplyDeleteSadly, she’s far too willing to push self-destructive policies like defund the police, welcoming cities, “rights” for the homeless, etc. that keep Allentown from truly improving - for all.
That wouldn’t be a problem, were it not for the fact that a majority on council and the mayor will also support such buffoonery.
Definitely one to watch. I will expect a lengthy and elaborate statement from CeCe and will be curious to see if Ms Santos will voice an opinion. Even more interesting will be the discussion of the other 4 members.
ReplyDeleteSecondly, with the anticipated hire of a true hr director and a pending investigation that will offer ideas, it makes sense to defer the creation of 2 separate advisory committees to see if that is the best way to proceed. I can forsee one committee agenda pitted against the other in competition for representation as well as resources.
Oh, and maybe someone could mention tonight to councilman Zucal that he isn't mayor yet so his campaign literature should not be headed Ed Zucal Mayor and needs to say Zucal for Mayor...
I’m surprised to read you like her so much considering her policies and actions seem to be entirely different from yours. Where you advocate for more police, she has routinely voted no against every police initiative, new hire, or funding (even when it’s free grant money) for the police. Who turns down free money for public safety? You seem like polar opposites. She doesn’t even have to hear what it’s about; if it’s for the police, it’s a no.
ReplyDeleteI love Ce Ce she is the only one with a spine except for Mayor Zucal. Yea crybabies worried about his fund raiser. He's bringing Larry Holmes. Tuerk is gonna bring Sherri Lewis. 🤣 This welcoming to illegals is a joke. The police can't police their own under current bosses. Can't use the word leadership because that would imply their leaders. So now let illegals here? But there is a new liberal FOP President that will agree with whatever Roca and Tuerk and some members of council tell him to do so let's make the city more dangerous for the cops. We'll planned guys.
ReplyDeleteYour post makes no sense.
