Zac Cohen And Company still refuses to accept his loss in the election last November. Although they babble that voters will be disenfranchised if the Election Board certifies his opponent's victory, the board is disenfranchising the public from a full judicial bench. It is becoming very apparent that the board is less than non-partisan, while it waits for Zac to find more pebbles to toss.
Allentown complains that not enough contractors bid on improvements to Valania Park, but also wants to further restrict which contractors can bid on projects? However, that contradiction is fitting for that park, which is being over-improved, considering both the amount, and type of activity that occurs there.

The Morning Call keeps featuring letters bashing the Republican candidates...Is that their reader base, or their editor's bias? One would think from a marketing standpoint, that they would want a more balanced opinion page.
Your comments on the Cohen election are similar to what I told a friend over the weekend. The Election Board is ignoring court decisions at the state and now federal level by failing to certify the election in Ritter's favor. That's just wrong. This is after the Board first ignored the recommendation from the head of the county's election department and decided to count the improper ballots in the first place.
ReplyDeleteWe're now almost five months since the Election and 2 1/2 months after the time when the winner should have been put into office, and still the Elections Board won't do their job? This is the kind of thing that happens in third-world banana republics. The Board is an embarrassment.
If the next ruling goes Cohen's way, would they then wait for an additional appeal from Ritter? I doubt it. I also think that it's time for the candidate to show some integrity, concede and ask the Board to certify Ritter. The only thing that Cohen's silence is proving is that he doesn't belong on the bench.
As to the Call, I long ago realized that they have no real concern about putting out a balanced product. They, and many other papers are clearly owned by people who don't care about providing balanced viewpoints or how that affects the bottom line. They are instead willing to suffer massive financial losses to keep control of the information outlets. The Morning Call is just a (formerly) local example, and the proof is that they don't even have a physical location here to write and print their product.
To me, they have even less credibility than the Elections Board.
