Ce-Ce was one of the Morning Call's Go To people. They have a stable of people they quote time after time on certain subjects... Iannelli for business, Jennings for poverty, Borick for politics, and Ce-Ce for affordable housing.
While Ce-Ce may well end up too tarnished to keep her Morning Call post, editor Miorelli is apparently in a damage control mode regarding her.
While this is a local example of media coordination and cooperation, it is a just a small example of what is being pushed on a national level.
ReplyDeleteCan the Morning Call get even more stupid, embarress itself even more than it has before, lose any remaining shreds of credibility it still has? This reporting proves it can and will. As they have become a parody of newspaper perhaps they would be wise to pass off their reporting as satire instead of straight news. In this light they would be viewed as both brilliant and hilarious.
ReplyDeleteWell said! It’s difficult not having a viable newspaper any more.
DeleteThe key phrase in this post is "complete with a link." The Morning Call only mentioned Lehigh Valley Ramblings when first reporting the story of the charges against Gerlach because the blog was integral to the story, and they were two weeks late reporting it. BUT, they did NOT link to the blog's report. While to my knowledge they have never linked to social media, they did link to Gerlach's Go Fund Me page. So, while they usually ignore journalistic attribution, the link they provided served no purpose other than to benefit Gerlach financially.
