With the Democratic world going ecstatic for Obama's put down of Trump, I felt compelled to watch/listen to the speech. Because Obama is such an eloquent speaker, it took two sessions for me to complete the watching. Although only 19 minutes long, the eloquence which mesmerizes others, annoys me. Obama could make a rain gutter commercial sound monumental. That quality of such elocution must be put aside, so that the meaningfulness of a speech can be evaluated.
Right off, Trump could not have caused both more virus deaths and also more damage to the economy. If more restrictions were put into place, there would have been more economic damage. Unfortunately, both results are proportional to our country's size, and experienced throughout the world.
Both Obama and Biden keep telling us that Joe was Obama's right hand. However, now Joe would be steering the ship, but still the best they can say is that he would be steady. We hear that steady is enough. Those satisfied with steady think that the country can protect itself, and all it needs is a president less embarrassing. Perhaps the country can lead itself back to being dependent on outside manufacturing, and picking up the tab for world defense.
Those so offended by Trump would gladly settle for Obama's third term. However, it won't actually be Obama delivering their cherished speeches. It would be Biden, occasionally telling us how the massive bureaucracy has been reengaged, to reproduce the previous status quo. Actually, that's the best it could be, because if it's worse, we'll be paying to make everything free for everybody.

Oboma is a dry caller that could sell most the Brooklyn bridge to the gullible public that approves his message about Joe and there party.
ReplyDeleteObama attempted to make Hillary his third term by controlling her with his attorney general and the FBI. He believed as they do now that the key to winning is suburban white women and black voters.
ReplyDeleteBiden's campaign is run by the Obama team and if elected will be staffed by Lynch, Yates and other Obama staffers. It will truly be Obama's third term and the process of fundamentally transforming american can be completed.
The Democrats make up narratives as they go along and the truth is never a priority. Thus is the case with the Covid Big Lies. The experts and the Democrats were the ones telling us there was nothing to worry about, then ripped the president a new one when he banned travel from China the Europe to contain the spread. From that point on he assemble the team of medical experts and followed their advice on how to deal with the pandemic.America, compared to other countries, has coped with the virus very well but you will never here that from the media or the Democrats. In fact, in general one can assume they will never hear the truth from either.
ReplyDelete"Trump could not have caused both more virus deaths and also more damage to the economy."
ReplyDeleteHere are two hypothetical approaches to handling a global pandemic to illustrate how that statement is false.
1. Publicly and repeatedly announce the severity of the pandemic. Provide support for all levels of government to provide clear and unambiguous updates about how the virus spreads and our best information about how to fight it as quickly as that information is discovered. Present a unified front backed by disease experts to fight against misinformation about the virus. Impose severe restrictions on incoming international travel and require mandatory quarantine in the cases where it must occur. If the virus is detected in any area, impose a lockdown and employ targeted testing and contact tracing to quarantine the exposed people before it can spread further. Have a long term plan about how the virus will be dealt with if it continues longer than expected.
This approach would certainly cause some economic damage, at the very least due to restricted travel and lockdowns. However, by aggressively tracking and isolating virus carriers, these lockdowns would not need to be much longer than the virus's two-week transmissible period. The whole goal of this approach is to minimize the number of cases, thus minimizing the number of deaths and minimizing the number of workers who have to stay home out of fear of getting sick instead of being productive.
2. Or instead, publicly and repeatedly downplay the severity of the virus. Repeatedly spread claims that the virus will go away on its own and that no action needs to be taken at lower levels of government. If the virus starts to spread, claim that the case numbers are being inflated by your political opponents, that the virus is a hoax to personally damage you. Impose lockdowns and restricted travel in an ad-hock fashion, allowing virus carriers to freely travel to states that have not yet locked down. When these ad-hock lockdowns fail, blame the lockdowns themselves rather than their implementation and harshly criticize any states that continue to lockdown. Advocate for unproven cures to the virus, publicly question the motivation of your scientific experts, make no attempt to stop the spread of misinformation about the virus. If the virus continues to spread refuse to admit that previous measures were ineffective, instead blame the increase in cases on increased testing(???) or falsified records.
This approach would have at least the same economic impact as the first because it also relies on lockdowns and restricted travel. However since it also works to actively sabotage those approaches, it ensures that the lockdowns must be lengthy in order to limit the spread, and even then might not be successful making the whole economic sacrifice pointless. Rather than a short, severe lockdown to limit the spread before reopening the country, it allows the virus to continue jumping from state to state so that even states that successfully locked down cannot reopen due to the risk of new carriers showing up from other states that didn't. This approach leads to more cases which means more workers unable to work and more deaths.
On an unrelated note, I think I missed the announcement that the dems are making everything free for everybody. When did that happen?
Anyone that has not decided who to vote for yet probably has trouble deciding which sock to put on first in the morning.
ReplyDeleteTrump's "accomplishments" could be listed on a sugar packet with a Sharpie. He's easily the most inept and least-competent President since 1900.
It's been reported that at the GOP Convention Trump will emphasize his creation of The Space Force. I concede that
Joe Biden’s plans for the Space Force pale in comparison to Trump’s. Donald will build us a Space Wall and the Martians will pay for it. Joe Biden will probably just waste the U.S. Treasury spending money on our people’s healthcare and general well-being and making America great again.
