Union Rumbles At Morning Call

An article on Lehigh Valley Live, web version of the Easton Express, reports that elements at the Morning Call want to unionize.

While the group has already created a website and facebook page, as of 5:00PM on Monday, there is still no report about it in the Morning Call itself. While those employees interested are pictured in a photograph, I noticed that some of those who might be considered senior staff are not involved, at least as of this writing.

While those organizing are fearful of Tribune policy and job security, ironically a journalism professor at Lehigh has a column in the paper stating how the industry is holding its own. Talking about Lehigh Journalism teachers, Bill White likes the group's facebook page. I sincerely doubt that he would be part of the effort if still employed by the paper.

Although, I'm generally not a union guy,  I wish the group success with their mission.

UPDATE: At 7:25PM an article on the unionization effort appeared on the paper's website. The article states that the request for union (The News Guild) recognition was signed by 48 employees, which is 79% of the staff.  The article was written by Morning Call Staff.

  1. F--- Bill White.

He did a fine job of stuffing his pockets with corporate cash, all the while 'white flighting' to the 'safety' of the suburbs (where he would not have to 'fear' "stalkers" just like ME) oh so long ago, didn't he?

But now I supposed to continue to care what this local One-Party Establishment Clown says/writes and/or thinks???

How about that. Truth be told, I find this particular revelation to be exceptionally laughable, especially given that that this Bill White character, himself, has already confessed in print many, many moons ago that his own perspectives on public policy could and/or would change drastically "if he lived in say, Altoona" (to quote, of course, no less of a God-like figure other than the great Bill White, himself).

So, exactly why should I give a damn about what this perhaps clearly scruples challenged Bill White guy does or does not "like"?

Because I would be more than happy to provide the necessary references from the actual newspaper articles appearing in The Morning Call written by Bill White upon request.

So, once I again, I say, "F--- Bill White." Because I, for one, certainly DO NOT miss his Leftist propaganda crapola one bit. But, hey, surely I can take it for granted it's only just me, right???

    Right!

Number of drinks on behalf of Altoona sent anonymously to Bill White by Rolf Oeler = 1

Okay, superstar blogger extraordinaire Bernie O'Hare. Time for you to do what you do best. Hell, maybe the U.S. Secret Service might actually take your 'this ultra bad, misbehaving Oeler dude is STILL out there somewhere stalking and threatening to kill people' horseshit seriously THIS time. Best of luck to you and your Leftist union-friendly, 0bama-idolizing ass, then, as always.

  2. Interesting. I supposed the MC will have to hire a freelance writer to cover the story. How else can readers trust it?

  4. It's amazing what you allow Rolf Oeler post.
Is the fuck ok because it has lines instead of letters?

  5. Valerie, I knew that when I decided against allowing anonymous comments that I would be sacrificing quantity of comments for accountability. On another blog with 30 comments, 10 of them are often from one person. people have much more courage when anonymous.
