Bill White was so impressed with his column on Wednesday, that he had it placed on the paper's front page. His premise was that there are two Ed Pawlowskis... one who championed for the minority community, and the other who let his political ambition get the better of him. In reality there was only one Ed Pawlowski.
Pawlowski courted the minority communities in the last election because the more informed white community knew by then that he was corrupt. Meanwhile, some hispanics and blacks were flattered that he was stopping in their beauty salons and attending their birthday parties. Some who testified on Pawlowski's behalf at the sentencing hearing needed a translator. Although, they can't speak or understand English, they still knew that Pawlowski was a saint? Last fall I reported on Pawlowski's election strategy on this blog.
Of course all of that is too politically incorrect for Bill White and the newspaper, thus we now read about Pawlowski's compassion for minorities.
As a commenter on yesterday's post noted, it would be more beneficial to the community if the paper realized that their own shortcomings enabled the Pawlowski era of corruption.
The Morning Call is fake news that local Democrat Party voters can truly believe in. In this one-party town, Bill White is easily the local Democrat Party's Most Valuable Player. Comrades, forward to progress!

I was introduced to Ed Pawloski when He was still working for Mayor Afflerbach. I asked Pawloski about a $200.00 donation He gave to Afflerbach when Roy ran for Congress.The conversation went South after that. I found that Pawolski was a boorish ,arrogant conceited person. I was always puzzled how He got so many folks to support and worship Him
ReplyDeleteEarth to Bill White! Ed was a con man, you are apparently a rube. He ended Systematic Rental Inspections. Why don't you guess how many of Allentown's poor are now living in substandard and/or illegal units. Of course thanks to you and the other apologist at the paper no one knows the answer to that, but a drive down any downtown street sure provides a clue. The number must be huge.

Gee, I never saw any articles about the two Nixons. His ending the draft, phasing down the War in Vietnam, forming the EPA and Department of Energy, awakening a 'silent majority,' and other moderate(?) positions never got him a similar story in the press.
