A Day In Pennsyltucky

Only in Pennsyltucky is the former Attorney General lead away in handcuffs, while the Vice President calls himself one of us. Although, I keep wanting to turn my attention to some local annoyances, the absurdity of this election cycle keeps grabbing my attention.  Today, a new ad for Kate McGinty featured Joe Biden telling his fellow Pennsylvanians how he is one of us. Joe lived here until he was 10 years old.

More troubling is the Obamas' campaigning against Trump.  I wish some of Michelle's outrage concerned the Christian children of Mosul, who are being brutally murdered.  She, like her husband, has the speech thing perfected, but they're both  misguided with their empathy.

Coming to the big screen soon will be the story of Kathleen Kane. In a story which reads like a movie script, she was finally sentenced yesterday, but not before she and her identical twin sister forced two State Supreme Court Justices to resign,  for emailing pornography within the court system.

  1. The judge nailed it when she said "you"/Kane failed to make the transition from politics to public servant. It was always clear she used her office to advance a personal political agenda. At least one corrupt politician is sort of held to account.

  2. Kane had many opportunities to change her fate. She could have simply resigned a year ago, and kept her law licence and even may have had a future in politics, as Democrats are very forgiving of their wayward children.

But Kathy had to tough it out, no she wasn't guilty of anything, this was all a political vendetta against her by the old boy network in Harrisburg. After all, she was the golden girl of the Democratic party and Toomey's Senate Seat was coming up in 2016. She could use her Attorney General office as a springboard to the United States Senate.. blah blah blah...

Sometimes life doesn't work out how we plan it Kathy. It's a pity though, you worked hard from a difficult childhood in Scranton. But somehow it just went all wrong. But then, if you're looking for a reason your life is in tatters, your career is gone, and you're heading to prison, look in the mirror.

  3. It's a political convince come election time that both Joe Biden and Hillary Clinton are from Pennsylvania. I suppose it has to do with 20 Electoral Votes.

  4. As happy as I am that Kathy Kane is no longer our Attorney General, I don't think she deserved jail time. She's lost her political career and law license. A substantial fine I think is in order here as her being in jail seems excessive punishment. She's also a mother.

  5. So surprised Jamie believes motherhood is a mitigating force in sentencing. I feel for the kids too, but let it be a deterrent to other women in politics who we are often told we need because men are so corrupt. Yes, a very sad situation, but she tried to ruin others.

  6. Kane is guilty of nine criminal charges, including perjury and criminal conspiracy. Jail time is certainly warranted. I'm surprised she didn't get a longer sentence and prison. Her children are innocent victims, as are all children of criminals like Kane.
