Pawlowski Even In Denial About Snowstorm
The Morning Call reports Pawlowski responded to criticism that the city never called a snow emergency prior to the storm. He said one was never called because weather reports didn't indicate heavy snow until three hours prior. Strangely enough, the rest of the United States Eastern seaboard had gotten the warning.
He's an innocent man-----an innocent man I say.
ReplyDeletePerhaps if hadn't been hobnobbing at some mayor's conference in DC and actually did his job, there wouldn't be a problem. He seems to have had time to take selfies.

ReplyDeletePerhaps Ed has reached the point where after the "No Confidence" vote, that he just doesn't care any longer.
ReplyDeleteIf he can't see an indictment coming how can we expect him to be on top of a snow storm. Scott Armstrong
ReplyDeleteCan two individuals co-purchase a a three complaint special?
ReplyDeleteI guess Pawlowski should've more closely followed the NAM model.

Shut up inner city people. How was the city to know a 100 year storm was coming ? How were they supposed to know there is a street where you live. We all know new streets are being formed all the time by the street fairy. They are forming a task force to study this problem. We can expect a solution by summer.
ReplyDeleteFrom the prophet Isaiah:
ReplyDeleteThen the Lord said, "Because this people draw near with their words And honor Me with their lip service, But they remove their hearts far from Me, And their reverence for Me consists of tradition learned by rote, Therefore behold, I will once again deal marvelously with this people, wondrously marvelous; And the wisdom of their wise men will perish, And the discernment of their discerning men will be concealed." Woe to those who deeply hide their plans from the LORD, And whose deeds are done in a dark place, And they say, "Who sees us?" or "Who knows us?"…
let those with ears hear. and yes, I mean this as a reference to what is happening right now with Allentown's homeless and their callous treatment by the leadership of a certain local "Christian unity and social services" organization.
Criminal is the word that comes to mind.
ReplyDeleteIt amazes me that we need a mayor to direct plowing and snow removal. Does he stand on a box megaphone in hand, barking orders, plow 6th street, now plow 4th street. An article in a local rag quoted a mr. Messinger . The city fell hours behind in plowing because, ready folks, a car ran out of gas on the 8th street bridge and we had to. Work around it. DID ANY OF YOU FOOLS CONSIDER TOWING THE CAR OR REROUTE THE PLOWS. GOOD GOD,
ReplyDelete@10:56, the bridge currently only has on lane because of a major rebuild. the bridge was built in the 1920's by harry trexler for the trolley line, because the creek valley is so steep. that's the same valley the homeless must navigate up, as discussed in the next blog post.
ReplyDeleteThis place is in serious trouble.
ReplyDeleteAll the pretend happening eateries in the Free World won't save it.
So the bridge has one lane. Hook up a chain to the car and a plow and tow it out of there. So the whole problem comes down to one stranded car on a one lane bridge. However Mike thanks for the history lesson.
ReplyDelete1/19 Fed Ed posted on his FB page about a potential high impact snow event. Then on 1/21 he posted about a possible blizzard hitting us and a paralyzing event coming to our area. He knew.
ReplyDelete@11:04 Mike you are usually pretty good on your history but you are wrong on the 8th St. bridge. IT was built by the Lehigh Valley Traction Co. (predecessor of LANTA) for the reason you stated. But it was opened in 1913 not the 1920'2 as you stated. Prior to the bridge the trolleys would not only have to travel up & down the Lehigh St & 6th St hills but also cross the railroad track at the bottom. At the time, this was a very busy commercial and residential area.
ReplyDelete@9:09. sorry for the sloppiness on the date. as you probably know, there was a trolley track built on lehigh street, which crossed the railroad tracks by the creek and went up the steep hill. the bridge was built to facilitate the high speed liberty bell service, from 8th off hamilton, to philadelphia
ReplyDeleteAllentown schools closed on Thursday. It's for the children.
