Pawlowski Muscles Redevelopment Authority
Although Pawlowski effectively gutted the Redevelopment Authority earlier this year by de-funding it's director, that agency is still fighting for survival. Here we see a City Solicitor dress down an attorney for the Agency, at the apparent amusement of City Council. Despite the solicitor's overbearing, the assessment record does show the Redevelopment Authority as owner. I have added two more short video's by Grounzero's Imantrek at the bottom of Pawlowski's Sham, two posts ago. Apparently, citizens of Allentown don't deserve much in the way of democracy.

Mr. Molovinsky,
ReplyDeleteSince you're writing about business development, would you happen to know what the new business owner
complained about at last Wednesday night's Allentown City Council initial "Courtesy of the Floor: proceedings? Also, is it true, some Council members were using their laptops during the meeting?
sorry, i do not recall the comment. yes, some council members were using their laptops while affected merchants poured their hearts out.
ReplyDeleteWhat is that "public servants name? The city got the property at a public sale?
ReplyDeleteDid THEY tell all other potential bidders that THEY would not be able to pass the myriad of inspections so don't EVEN bother bidding?
That would be Mike Schlossberg and Michael D'Amore(the President) staring blankly at their laptops the entire time that Allentown citizens were speaking.
ReplyDeleteAll this after angrily admonishing the crowd for seeking answers and claiming to be LISTENING.
They were NOT listening and the result was a waste of time for attending citizens as the vote was a foregone decision.
At least two council members indicated that their decision was already made prior to the meeting.
anon 7:03, i want to confirm which city solicitor or assistant was there, i do not know him by sight. the property in question, 22 N. 7th St., is the vacant lot formally occupied by corporate plaza, destroyed years ago by a sinkhole

ReplyDeleteRegarding the laptops, I have this from someone who knows:
Some use the laptops to send each other e-mails during council meetings and make fun of those speaking.
They think they're so clever, but they're so far from it.
Mike, can you tell me who the attorneys are (the City and the Redevelopment Authority)? This is a very telling exchange.
ReplyDeleteanon 8:51, i could tell you their names, because i'm 90% sure, but i'll wait till i'm 100%, before i put it to print. please also watch the two other video's from the meeting, that i added to the bottom of the pawlowski's sham post.
ReplyDeletein the confrontation, the city is represented by it's solicitor jerry snyder, cathy meinhart represents the redevelopment authority. despite pawlowski's and snyder's vocal domination, assessment records indicate ms. meinhart is correct.
ReplyDeleteAcces the emails under Freedom of Information Act. See what is really going on in clown town during the meeting.

ReplyDeleteI did not watch the video. However, I was at the meeting and found the Solicitor's behavior unprofessional at best, unbalanced at worst. I have seen him do this before, and I am surprised that Council never seems to try have him temper HIS comments.
During his latest rant, the solicitor used a legal term to desribe the status of the property. The Redevelopment Authority attorney countered that she was not aware of this.
Do you know the term I am speaking about, and could you explain it here?
patrick, snyder claims it is a bailment agreement, which means that the redevelopment authority held the parcel in title for the city, but that the city was the actual owner. meinhart countered that there was no bailment agreement. five weeks ago the pawlowski and the city were claiming that they knew nothing about the offers. at the first meeting several days later, sarah hailstone said that the offers were tendered through AEDC. apparently the city uses these agencies as handmaidens of convenience, but now the redevelopment authority has outlived it's usefulness. just several months ago they used the redevelopment authority to purchase a parcel down at the river for $800,000.00. before pawlowski decided to move his revival tent to hamilton street.

ReplyDeleteUnder "Pawlowski's Sham" you mentioned that you are withholding a "bombsehell" at the source's request.
Is there a time when you will divulge the bombshell, or are you sworn to silence forever?
patrick, in the future i must be careful with such descriptions. i was referring to the fact that act 50 apparently allows the use of school tax for financing. even if there is no intention to use it now, it could be used in the future if the arena does not perform to expectations.
ReplyDelete"Apparently, the citizens of Allentown don't deserve much in the way of democracy."
ReplyDeleteMr. Molovinsky,
With all due respect, I humbly submit that the citizens of Allentown are getting EXACTLY what they deserve.
After all, this is the Mayor THEY voted for...and this is the City Council THEY voted voted for.
I am pretty certain that some of these very same politicians concerned, Pawlowski being one example, were re-elected overwhelmingly.
What is the old expression, "You gotta dance with the girl you brought" ???
Whatever happened to the director?
ReplyDeleteDid she get fired?

Anon 10:43 - Not all in Allentown voted for another reign of economic incompetence.
ReplyDeletethe city de-funded the directorship of the Redevelopment Authority, leaving only an assistant and a volunteer board. it is my understanding that even the reduced funding has not been made available.
