Bernie's Court

Although Bernie and the formal legal system partied company about twenty years ago, blogging has provided Mr. O'Hare with a much more suitable courtroom. In Bernie's new Court, Lehigh Valley Ramblings, he never loses. His methods are subject to no scrutiny from a higher authority. He is free to be an blatant sycophant for those he favors, and an assassin against those he doesn't. He revels in using those trial skills so long prohibited. He will take a query and construct and accuse the commentator of a massive insult. He will add words unsaid, and fabricate intentions. In his closing statement, he will inform the defendant that he will not be permitted a reply. The thing Bernie most enjoys about his courtroom, he is not only the prosecutor, he is also the judge. With a simple push of the delete button, he presents, defends and reaffirms only his viewpoint.

There is a sad element on this field trip to Bernie's Courtroom. Although he takes great pride in his skills, these manipulations do not go unnoticed by the readers. His intellectual dishonesty is much more apparent than he would like to believe.

  1. Do sadly agree. I have long since stopped reading regularly, which is a shame because his blog does occasionally provide a good public service covering stories neglected by mainstream press.

  2. My 2 cents:
I've been reading Bernie's blog for several years, and his intellectual dishonesty has either become more extreme over time or simply become more apparent to me.
Note to Bernie: Just because you admit you are not impartial does not give you license to be dishonest. You don't recognize, or you choose to ignore, the difference.
Molovinsky, you have impressed me with your sane and well-reasoned method of calling O'Hare on his tactics. There are a couple of other bloggers around here who lack your intellectual integrity.

  3. anon 11:28, i don't know if o'hare is worse or not, but when you become a target, you certainly become aware of his repetitive tactics. yesterday, after putting many words in my mouth, i supposedly kicked someone when they're "leaving town". last month he said that i kicked someone else when he was "down". last evening a comment on o'hares, noting his pattern, was quickly deleted. early this morning a protest comment by me was deleted. bernie must be exhausted "controlling" the flock. actually, i believe most bloggers are aware of his maneuvers, but don't wish to become his target.

  4. You can criticize Bernie all you want, Molovinski, but at least he is not churlish and afraid to publish unwanted comments.

  5. anonymous 1:36, it is true that i do not publish all comments received (most i do). most of the unpublished comments are rather personal, harsh attacks against someone submitted anonymously.

  6. anon 1:36, i was just visiting over at bernie's blog and see you visited there, using your St. George identity. (churlish is your word of the day)
yes indeed, i have been ignoring your comments, and suspect o'hare would also if he realized who you were.

  7. Mr.Molovinsky, As a former resident of Allentown I must get the news from the local blogs the most important being Lehigh Valley Ramblings.Other that Bernie's success, why the criticism. If you disagree with him blog on his page.By the way I remember the 'Mighty Atom' fondly from my youth.

  8. anon 10:17, the post is self explanatory. bernie's blog is very informative, how disagreement is tolerated is the issue.

  9. I wholeheartly agree. Bernie prides himself on all his posts being true. Sadly that is not true. Especially in Northampton county he has always been very liberal in his love for all things Angle and Stoffa but recently he has deleted truthful posts that give readers new information. Information that can easily be verified.

I will be clear I am no fan of Bernie Ohare and have know his mean and dark side for many years, yet I did respect his former blog and the open discussions he encouraged. But Bernie is Bernie and the Ohare that has always had "issues" is still very much alive.

  10. my problem with bernie began last spring, when i questioned whether cunningham could walk on water. to those like myself, who have been subjected to bernie's courtroom trial tactics, this post may have resonated. however, there is another card in the deck, which forces me to end the comments, after 2.5 days. those of you familiar with the local blogosphere realize bernie has a full time antagonist (i'm just a part time protester) and it's too difficult to separate legitimate comments from his trojan horses.
