Good News Only
I have a problem. It sincerely pains me to repeatedly criticize public figures. Although some antagonists have labeled me an anti-Pawlowski blogger, you may have noticed that I have repeatedly defended him against certain allegations. Likewise, it bothers me to have taken Ms. Marin to task recently on several occasions. I though perhaps I could submit a comment complimenting her for owning up to a mistake of judgement in regards to the Daro fitness center. It would have been more of a private gesture, in that none of my comments there have ever passed through moderation. My making nice to Ms. Marin will have to wait for another opportunity, because the posting promoting the fitness center has been deleted from Allentown Good News.

Poof!
ReplyDeleteWe lie tp you at Allentown Good News, and when you can prove it, we delete the post.
Poof!
i'm not aware of any lies at allentown good news, but i am disappointed the post was deleted. upon reflection i don't think promoting the fitness center was bad judgement, ms. marin could not have known they would fly the coup. but, it would be refreshing to see that blog acknowledge that some businesses fail and that some disappoint their customers.
ReplyDeleteThere are no surprises! This is all predictable.
ReplyDeleteWanting to see something that isn't there and when you find out it isn't, acting like it never was and in fact you start to really believe you never wanted it in the first place.
It will only continue. Allentown still needs to reach a bottom, I fear, before a true turnaround can occur.
Mike, I give you credit for acknowledging that there were no lies told by Joyce Marin, and putting the situation in context.
ReplyDeleteI agree it would be refreshing if the reality of the downtown business situation was addressed.
thanks chris, what a nice barbell you handed me while i walk on this rope. much has been said at many places, and i'm no archivist. i think everybody, outside of the administration, is in agreement about the reality void.
ReplyDeleteSorry Mike, didn't mean to hand you a barbell. You can throw it back if you want, I have another blogger I was going to hand it to, but it appears he's busy right now hanging himself with a whole bunch of rope made of ill advised blog posts!
ReplyDeleteAs someone who was taken in by this gym -- it closed the day after I joined -- I was disappointed to see that post disappear, mostly because other people who were defrauded were commenting there. It was a source of information on this situation. Some commenters apprently were told by the operators they would get a refund. The gym so far has ignored my e-mails. I would have posted that on Good News, but I guess the whole thing never happened. It must have been a figment of my imagination.
ReplyDeletei found it difficult to believe that an operator who closed down in such a fashion would be giving back refunds. i think it was improper for the good news blog to make or pass on insinuations about the landlord or about refunds. the administration seems more concerned about their image than your money.
ReplyDeleteI can only guess the original post was erased because it still promoted the gym, which we all know vanished. leaving the post up might be false advertising too. It was probably best to take it down but unfortunate for the people who need to share information about this crime.
