Bernie's Spin Cycle

Many of my readers also read Bernie O'Hare's Ramblings. Yesterday, I was asked if Bernie was on the Democratic payroll, and I replied that he was not; You couldn't pay someone to carry water that enthusiastically. However, Bernie was good at mixing a little fact, some out of context quotes, and old fashion prejudice, to create his recent narrative against Ott. In Bernie's World, the Republican Chairman and his commissioner wife dispense silver shekels to certain candidates, to produce Judas's, who he also refers to as lapdogs. According to Bernie, this chairman is an evil manipulator, who doesn't allow Republican candidates to run in Allentown proper, to control voter turnout for the county. Bernie even has the local conservative talk radio host not believing the Republican candidate. Yes, the party chairman is wealthy, they often are. It takes a person who is pretty financially comfortable to devote so many hours to something which has no salary. No one ran as a Republican candidate in Allentown because it has become a fool's errand, with the Democratic registration advantage and straight lever pulling. The radio host always uses a devil's advocate approach to interviews. He supports the candidate that Bernie portrays he doesn't believe. Don't believe everything you read on the blogs, unless of course, you're at this site.

UPDATE: This post was edited to clarify that any ethic insensitivity by O'Hare was an  isolated incident.

Well it is official, Bernie has gone to the dark side. I posted a list of contributors from Mullers campaign finance report on Bernie's blog. The whos who of unions, venders and attorneys, and low and behold poof its gone this morning.

Thanks for your honesty and integrity. Bernie has lost his.

@6:39, i don't believe that bernie has lost his integrity, but his objectivity about the muller/ott race is certainly challenged. bernie has always disliked woodman and ott, and admired the former cunningham lehigh county administration, of which muller was part. he buys this nonsense that muller is only running to save the county from ott's extremism. bernie has turned himself inside out defending muller, even to the point of separating the evil fleck who manages pawlowski, and the ok fleck who manages muller.

Ott? If you wanted to buy governant, why would you pay for Mr Ott?

I've written to Bernie to understand the circumstances of what 6:39 has claimed (deletion); this doesn't sound like the Bernie I know. I'm guessing it was either an inadvertent mistake or there was some other offending "blog rule" broken to have caused him to delete what sounds like a factual post.

MM thank you for your ongoing counter coverage to the Exec race, O'Hare has become unhinged in his attempt to sabotage Ott's campaign. It's not even that he is that high on Muller, there is something about Scott that he detests and I am not clever enough to suss that out, and won't speculate.

It would benefit the entire valley if maybe you branched out a little into NorCo issues and established yourself as the Valley's preeminent blogger. Bernie's ego has swelled to dangerous heights and must be checked. The more great minds we have examining the issues the better.

@3:56, bernie will remain the go to source for northampton county and beyond; there are not too many people, certainly not me, who can match his energy. when it comes to lehigh county or allentown, i will always speak out against that which i disagree, be it the administrations, newspaper or fellow bloggers.

Whethervain,

No blog rules were broken or misleading comments made. Bernie deleted factual content out of Muller's public campaign finance report. I suppose it did not fit Bernie's agenda to bash Ott. He rips into Ott's campaign report and his contributors and ingnores Muller's list of "pay to play" players. Obviously pay to play happens all the time, however if you look at Muller's report it the typical whos who of the typical trough feeders.

6:39AM ...Information about Muller's campaign finance report are now "unpoofed" on Bernie's blog. While I don't know exactly what you published (because it was deleted - duh!), I did the best I could - and Bernie won't be deleting it.

As far as I'm concerned, his integrity remains intact - although he does admit going to the dark side ;-)

Blame the attack on his blog for making that post (and a few others) a casualty.

Thanks Whethervain for being the voice of reason. The post was only meant to add balance to the conversation. Muller's monied supporters are the very trough feeders most of us despise, including Bernie.
