From the newly gold gilt plated Oval Office, the everyman's president thinks people can pound cake, instead of food. By the time this edition hits the newsstands, I can't predict where the courts will stand. One new ruling supersedes the other as I type. But it certainly appears that food is being weaponized.
On the topic of weapons, there is Admiral and General insecurity at the Pentagon. Hegseth is making those decisions based on salutes and shoeshines. Kennedy tells us that we can use injections to lose weight, but not protect against disease.
Snapping back, even if SNAP payments are tied up in court appeals, his majesty could have read here on MOLOVINSKY that his MAGAs are reduced to hamburger, and that they stayed home for Tuesday's election. This week the meat packers will be pressured to lower prices, even if the USDA inspectors are laid off.
ADDENDUM: Sunday evening seven Democrats and an independent ended the shutdown stalemate in the Senate. It appears as if funding will be restored thru January.
I'm not here to be polite or popular
At one time, Allentown had no less than five meat packers. Shown above, Molovinsky's packing house on Union Street.

You are correct about one thing.
ReplyDeleteFood (along with airplane safety, paying the military and everything else the federal government does) was weaponized. But it was by the democrats.
Fortunately, last night eight of them came to their senses and voted with the republicans to end the democrat filibuster in the senate and allow discussion on a bill that funds the government. It’s essentially the same bill that the democrats have been blocking for over 40 days.
But it’s all Trump’s fault to you. Your democrat masters must be happy that you’ll carry their water, and their message, for them no matter what the truth really is.
You mention that Allentown once had FIVE meat packing companies. Are they all gone because of Trump too?
anon@4:27: It's the first time I have ever been called a Democrat, but I suppose in your partisan world, independent, is like anonymous. Party fault beside, I too hope the shutdown ends.
ReplyDeleteThe local packing house history is a vague reference to Trump blaming foreign meat packers for the price of beef. Although I'm not a Democrat, I'd hate to be a Republican defending his governing by excuse.
I'm also registered Independent, but try to be more objective than you when looking at things. I am also Anonymous, so that makes me a loser in your world anyway!
DeletePresident Trump is doing an excellent job as American President despite having to work with an absolutely awful United States Congress. A Congress that apparently would rather not have to deal with an Executive Branch that demands accountability from each of them.
This Trump is a real thorn in their side. He calls them out for their, sometimes illegal, shenanigans that are wasting our taxpayer dollars. He also hopes to stave off the ongoing Democrat push toward Socialism and Communism. Our President really IS working within the parameters specified in our Constitution. His foes, however, not so much.
MM how much are you paid by the deep state to unleash this calvalcade of abuse towards #DJT?
DeleteObama signed the budget with the largest cut in the history of the Food Stamp Program.
ReplyDeleteClinton killed Aid to Dependent Children.
Both parties frittered away trillions of taxpayer dollars, blood, and assorted treasure on 20 years of lies and failed policies in Afghanistan.
This long government shutdown with resulting chaos was created by Democrats.
ReplyDeleteThe massive problems in our bigger cities having been overrun by illegal aliens is a result of Democrat policy.
The failure to clean-up the messy expansion of mail-in voting is in the hands of Democrat governors.
Obamacare was created almost exclusively by Democrats. It is now collapsing under its own weight.
Our news media tells us today's troubles are due to President Trump. Even worse, many local citizens actually believe them !
The ACA is collapsing because it has been gutted by republicans. It is also very popular and needed by millions. But the again you are one of those “if I am in trouble and in need of help, it is my own fault.”
DeleteI not aware of how Obamacare was gutted by Republicans.
DeleteAnon 6 am: ObamaCare is collapsing because it was a lie. We didn’t get to keep our doctors, we didn’t pay lower premiums, and the cost of the subsidies has exploded. The only ones better off because of it are the insurance companies.
DeleteThe ACA is performing precisely as designed - a profit center NOT a care center. It was a sop for Big Insurance since day one. Did it benefit some people?
DeleteSure.
The ACA left approximately 30 million Americans with zero health insurance and tens of millions of other Americans with virtually no access to healthcare due to high premiums and draconian co-pays.
The ACA was designed to fail and it has, regardless of revisionist history or the comments made by children.
In the big picture, the federal government is broke and even way beyond broke, with massive and growing debt. Everyone resists any attempt to reign in costs, just hope to tax the other guy. It is all going to fail and be dramatic.
ReplyDeleteOur leaders should be talking to old Russian leaders who dealt with the economic collapse of their nation, and in a peaceful way. Listen to them explain what happens when all the pensions are gone, both public and private, when existence is the only thing to be considered.
We are debating about insignificant things, when the real issue should be staving off the inevitable collapse that this coming.
Oh Gosh! Looks like the Democrats caved. Yeah...winning...?
ReplyDeleteanon@7:27: So Trump is enlightened, and all of congress is wrong? You have no issues with blowing up boats in the Caribbean or shipping people without due process?
ReplyDeleteScott@8:36 To many of us which party" caves" or "wins" is not as important as food and health care security.
How about the security of a secure border? The security of reducing spending so the deficit doesn't bankrupt the country and lead to the loss of the dollar as a world currency? How about the security of the deportation criminal aliens, many who have been arrested multiple times for felony offenses? How about the security of safer streets and actually reducing crime rather than fudging the numbers? How about the security for women that men won't be in their high school bathrooms or showers? How about the security that controversial sex transitions on children, sometimes as young as 12 are no longer permitted ? How about the security of being able to speak one's mind on internet platforms that serves as the new town square without getting blocked and banned? How about the security of the international order being far more secure? How about the security of knowing our federal government is taking effective measures to block the flow of dangerous drugs into the country? I could go on and on Mike, but no one is this country should have any issue with food security when even the homeless are well fed. Finally, health care costs only exploded with the passage of the ironically named "Affordable Care Act. Anger does funny things to the mind, it short circuits logic and self doubt. It lend itself to platitudes rather than considered argument.
DeleteI don't like Trump. I don't like arrogant people. Biden had clearly lost his marbles and the country was running on autopilot. Things were better under Reagan. He was the last president I liked that seemed like a leader. Daddy Bush talked like he had a nazal problem and was president for the rich. His kid didn't seem intelligent. I liked Clinton because he seemed like a regular guy you could go out bar hopping with, but he was as crooked as they came also.
ReplyDeleteReagan was the best. He seemed like a leader. The rest of them weren't and Trump spends most of his time just getting people angry at him
Reagan declined into dementia. Nancy and her astrologer ran the government.
DeleteYou’re delusional.
No one cares who you, or anyone else, “likes”.
DeleteGoverning is not a popularity contest.
@11:35 AM
DeleteIf you don’t like arrogant people you must have really had serious issues with Obama.
Delete@2:03 Reagan was the last president who had a higher popularity raiting leaving after 8 years then he had when he came into office. That and he ended the cold war. i liked Reagan also
@3:10 Every time you vote its do you like this person or the other. It is definitley a popularity contest Trump is a New Yorker. I don't particually like New Yorkers. I suppose that is one of the reasons that I just don't care for Trump is because he's an arrogant New York ........
@3:15 You are referring to the guy who always had his nose stuck up in the air?
Gorbachev ended the Cold War, he took Reagan along for the ride.
DeleteReagan was a third rate actor (Bedtime for Bono), playing the POTUS was his best role.
The Mayor Elect of NYC is popular.
DeleteGroovy.
@5:48 You must be MAGA. Trump likes the Russians so MAGA also likes the Russians because that's who Trump likes.
DeleteEven when Putin sends missiles into apartment blacks in Ukraine, killing innocent people.
I heard Trump say something interesting the other day. He said that the Russian invasion of Ukraine should have been over in a week. If he was president it never would have happened.
That tells me that he thinks Russia should have won the war in a week. Ukraine should have just capitulated and it would be over. That's why Trump cut off the military aid to Ukraine that Biden started to send, so the Ukranians would lose.
The Ukrainians decided to fight instead and we found out that the Russian army was not all what it was made out to be. The lights went out in Moscow last night. That must have made Trump upset. He wants the Russians to win so he can cut some trade deals with Putin
Another reason I don't like Trump.
Brent -
DeleteI hope you realize how stupid you sound.
Your continued attempts to link Trump (and MAGA) to the Russians is idiotic. It’s been debunked years ago.
People can dislike Putin and not want the US to be involved in the Ukraine war at the same time.
@7:20am I'm not "linking" anything. Just like many Americans, it is difficult to understand Trump's behavior towards the Russians. When he comes into office, he cuts off all US aid to Ukraine, and just about throws Zelinskyy out of the Oval Office, saying he has "no cards to play" so he better make a deal to surrender to Putin. Then Trump goes weeks and months on end putting off any action against Russia while Putin keeps sending missiles into churches and homes in Ukraine.
DeleteThen he has the USAF guard at Elmendorf on their knees rolling out the red carpet for Putin who agrees to nothing while sending more missiles into Ukraine.
Sorry, I don't know what is going on in Trump's mind to give a war criminal the red carpet treatment. Reagan forced Gorbachev into bankrupsy and the entire evil empire went down the tubes in Moscow, but now Trump wants to cut buisness deals with themwhile he kills civilians every night in Kiev. Sorry MAGA, I don't buy your nonsense.
When I served in our Air Force we halped to defend our friends. Not tell them to go pound sand like Trump is doing to Ukraine. I'm not a fence-strraddler like you seem to be.
I accidentally deleted an anonymous comment stating that the attacks on private boats are very well vetted by military intelligence.
