Conservative Looking For A Home

I called myself a conservative looking for a home, after the Republican Party sold itself out to Trump and a win. While there is interest and speculation about who will be the Democratic candidate in 2028, you hear less of that with the Republicans. They're busy wondering what buildings and institutions Trump can put his name on.

I recently read that among the forerunners with the Republicans, besides Vance and Rubio, there is Donald Jr.. If the party goes with another Trump, I might as well be writing about professional wrestling. John Bolton recently told a group at Harvard that the difference between Trump 45 and 47, is that Trump picked only yes men and women for his second round. Bolton's too diplomatic to mention that beside the yes, they have no qualifications.

Considering that winning seems mission number one for both parties, perhaps the combination of diehard partisans, and Red Hat remnants, can pull it off, it's probably their best shot. While I'm still hoping for a principled conservative, I'm afraid that Trump has killed the Republican Party for years to come.

I'm not here to be polite or popular

  3. I’m hearing that the federal government is investigating you for violating Truth in Advertising laws.

Maybe it’s time to rename this blog “Molovinsky on Trump” just to be safe.

Meanwhile, Allentown’s Center Square is being destroyed, I mean redesigned, with daily traffic jams during the construction. I’m sure that’s not helping downtown merchants in that area, but just wait until the project is complete and those same merchants realize their traffic counts have been PERMANENTLY reduced!

  4. anon@1:04: I have received, but will print no more comments on astrology.

anon@6:25: Molovinsky on Allentown and Beyond would be fair.
Retail hasn't existed on Hamilton since they demolished the 700 block for the arena.
If something newsworthy occurs in Allentown, I'll cover it.

  5. The truth about Don Jr and Eric are they are dolts and papa Don knows this, the 35yo age requirement needs to be altered to allow Baron to inherit the throne he is a 6'6" super genius born of a super model and has amazing genes. His dominance in the crypto space will make him wealthier than Elon and it's no secret he is the favored son destined to rule for decades after Dons passing the torch

    1. any argument that begins with insult is merely that and nothing more. Insult is the lack of argument and spring from minds clouded by hate.

  7. The problem with Trump and appointments, is that in his first administration, guys like Bolton undermined him at every turn, the ex generals were all Washington bureaucrats whose sole purpose was to increase spending and advocate for more war.
They were all motivated by their own or someone else's agenda.
I suspect that now Trump just wants people to do what HE wants. It is still a work in progress, hopefully we will come to the right policies after we try everything else.

    1. Another astute observation by the man from Northwestern Lehigh. Some of the Deep State people Trump had to deal with during his first term are missing this term. But, dozens more are still sprinkled throughout his orbit in Term Two. The cleaning house will continue on a little longer, for sure.

  8. Mike, as it regards the Republican Party, if only you knew what you were talking about, your commentary would provide insight rather than perceivable animosity. Exhibit A: John Bolton, Really? The fact that he started hating Trump only after Trump fired him says it all doesn't it? In a fit of pique, John made a bee line to CNN to vent his spleen. Funny how the scales suddenly fell from his eyes isn't it? Exhibit B: The only change Trump made to the Republican platform was to remove the Pro -Life plank. He did this because after the overturning of Roe vs Wade is issue was no longer federal but returned to the states, exactly how our founder planned such issues to be handled. Trump is not an ideological conservative, rather he is so intuitively. The vast majority of conservatives understand this and are fine with that. You are correct that many older conservatives, dislike his demeanor, therefore Trump himself. We can agree that is a problem, but in truth he is merely a reflection of what the opposition party throws at him. Younger Republicans aren't as bothered by his often infantile rhetoric. They understand if matches the incoming and frankly such antics bother them less as the culture in general as degraded to this degree. If you were around younger Republicans you would understand this.
Finally, While the leadership of the Republican Party has changed over the years, the beliefs have not. The opposition cannot say the same can it? They have moved far to the left in the last decade of so. Presently, we are witnessing a fight for control of the Democratic Party between those who were willing to open the borders, get rid of bail, allow men to use women's bathrooms, ...and those who want to go even farther to the left. The Democratic Socialist Party, a far left "non profit", proclaimed after winning the mayor's office in NYC and many lesser offices said, "we aren't wasting our time starting a third party, we are taking over the Democratic Party." They are serious, they are committed, and they are well funded. Now let's ask ourselves what the real problem is in America.

    1. John Fetterman went on "The View" the other morning, and the women on it attacked him for voting with the Republicans to break the impasse and fund the federal government.

So now the feeral government will be funded until the end of December.... that's another thing.

They were really upset with Fedderman because he voted not to fund Obamacare payments for illegal ailens to recieve health care using tax dollars, what the entire shutdown was about it seems.

Now Fedderman still is a Democrat, albeit a sane one, while the rest of the Democratic party has gone off the Deep End. That normally would be good for the GOP, however Trump and his MAGA supporters have taken the Republican off to the far right also, especially with this "war department" nonsense.

Now it appears that Trump has parked a carrier task force off Venesuela and probably after the holidays, will start a war with the Maduro regime, and already MAGA is talking about the oil in Venesuela and how it will benifit the US.

Sorry, we are not Russia and the United States is not a warlike nation who engages in imperalism. This is the same nonsense Trump tried to do with Greenland earlier this year. Now its Veesuela and him having the Navy blow up drug runners boats. The Navy is not the DEA.

If Trump wants to go after the drug cartels, there is a much worse narco nation on our southern border called Mexico where they engage in a lot more drug dealing, along with allowing the Red Chinese to send the precursors to the drug gangs so they can flood the US with illegal fentanol.

That and the mexican government willing allowed the drug cartels to use Mexico to be a conduit for millions of illegal aliens to flow like a river into the United States with drugs, child trafficking and God knows what else with the full cooperation and colusion of the Biden Administration.

But there must not be any money to be made by attacking Mexico, but Venesuela has larger oil reserves than the North slope of Alaska which Trump can sieze control over.

    2. Really Brent? You really believe Trump will attack Venezuela so we get cheaper oil? Really? Okay....?

    3. Scott@4:22 Trump thinks in making money and deals. This is why he tried to shake down Zelinskyy to make a deal on Ukrainian rare earthis in exchange for US mineral rights because he believed the Russians wouldn't attack US companies in Ukraine.

With Trump, it's always a deal and how the US will profit from it. It's how he was raised in New York City and his mindset is making money and deals... Its all he ever takls about. How he wants to make deals with Putin origionally for oil and aluminum.

He fiinally realized that Putin wasn't making a deal with Ukraine so all of the talk about cease fires has gone away.

And yes, Trump, through MAGA is talking about the oil in Venesuela. Trump knows MAGA will support him no matter what he does, or doesn't do.

The Danes are still upset with us about Trump talking about siezing Greenland last Feburary.....

  9. Naming the Commanders new stadium after Trump "would be beautiful". They could put his image on parking lot banners, directional signage, on the stadium itself and maybe even on the team's helmets. It'll be just like North Korea!
