I don't see that! If political correctness and liberalism was removed from the schools, which will never happen, the schools would be able to teach and discipline would return. With a good education, jobs would be a priority and the number of welfare recipients would decrease. The numbers of and cost of social programs would decrease and money now poorly spent, could be used for hiring good teachers, based on merit, not union demands. This is what is best for our students and that is what we should be fighting for. After all. it is our children and our tax money! To be fair, the superintendent has little to work with. He is between a rock and a hard place. Too many students don't want to learn and many parents don't care enough about their children's education. Just look at the product coming out of our schools. Tattoos, body piercing and entertainment is more important than getting a good education or a good job. Awhile the "third world" students are getting their master's and doctorates, we are being dumbed down. We have become fat, lazy and many are drugged up to feel good for the moment. One walk through Wal-mart will show us that and one walk through many neighborhoods will be our last! This affects everything in society. The way we think, the way we vote and the lack of leadership in government. We are what we learn and we learn what we are taught!<br />Stealth.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-951782330457966647.post-72774652635799143202011-07-29T10:59:22.140-04:002011-07-29T10:59:22.140-04:00steelbreast, my intent was to point out that they ...steelbreast, my intent was to point out that they hired outside help, despite creating multiple administrative posts. he is a gunfighter; but time will tell what orders he was given. the union boss claims that they were not offered sufficient guarantees to justify concessions. the final layoff figure of 112, although unfortunate, is probably in line with state cutbacks.michael molovinskyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12581039755319742687noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-951782330457966647.post-35731626962219055792011-07-29T10:52:51.265-04:002011-07-29T10:52:51.265-04:00I agree with Steelbreast---the teacher union is to...I agree with Steelbreast---the teacher union is to blame for my taxes going up, in fact unions in general are to blame for the recession and high unemployment.
