Ho, Ho, Ho, Unfit for Habitation

A well kept property with a few Christmas decorations doesn't fool Allentown Code Enforcement. Even the Santa flag couldn't keep the orange Unfit for Human Habitation Notice away. This property, although not on the Bill White Christmas Light Tour, caught the attention of our staff photographer.

These supposed "public servants" are always seeking A means to expand their office ranks.
The boorish attitude displayed by most (not all) of these bastions of society is reminiscent of the brown shirts.
Little men with a little power searching for ways to prove the necessity of their occupation.
How many people were employed by code enforcement 20 years ago and how many exist now? Has the population changed? Are we citizens any safer because of this self-sustaining industry?
Mandatory home pre-rental inspections and pre-sale inspections are not cheap nor are they needed.
Another government agency out of control.

In Allentown's parks it's a $600. fine, but dog off leash, dog poop off leash, dog off leash harass other dogs and owners, try to get any enforcement, forget about it.

What if, by some coincidence, the Santa flag actually BROUGHT the anger of all-powerful Big Government Bureaucrats, as directly compared to keeping it away?

Maybe the Santa flag IS what makes the property Unfit for Human Habitation.

Mike, can you tell what the violation was to be tagged unfit?

anon 4:33, no, the notice usually does not state those details. furthermore, i did not go up to the door, to read the date of posting or issuing officer. i was struck by the visual juxtaposition of the notice and holiday decorations.

You should call the season as you see it.
There are a few.
I wonder what those orange tags would look like in some other places. Places having different cultures.

ho ho ho.
Raise the school tax, the real estate tax, the sewer and water fees, and the garbage fees.
Put up a 200 million dollar sham arena.
seasons greetings.
