A Lesson at Bucky Boyle Park

The Community Development Block Grant, as well as the Weed and Seed and all the other expensive programs, address quality of life issues in center city. None of the problems is more apparent, on a daily basis, than littering. On Sunday, Andrew Kleiner taught a dozen kids an appreciation of a litter free environment, at no cost to the tax payer. I know that Andrew would make an excellent teacher, but he better learn about budgets, appropriations, grants, complicating things and wasting money, if he ever wants to be a bureaucrat.

  2. Mr. Molovinsky,
Might you allow open comment on the city's new anti-violence school task force in a separate blog?

  3. Andrew, keep it up! You're doing a hell of a job on many fronts.

Don't be a bureaucrat, they are evil bloodsucking leeches (most of them anyway).

  4. Good for you, Andrew. Don't let the cynics get you down. Just keep doing what you're doing! And, remember that in the Lehigh Valley, no good deed goes unpunished.

  6. Mr. Molovinsky,
Thank you for the kindness to allow our comment.

According to today's Call, which in error has allowed a photo of Specter on campaign to be attached to this Allentown School District story all day, Mayor Ed Pawlowski is quoted as stating:
"said the task force is being set up after months of discussion with Angello over the need to keep students safe wherever they are.

''I have acknowledged that safety in the city and safety to and from school has a significant impact on safety in the school,'' he said. ''We're a medium-size city with big-city crime.''

So city residents, taxpayers and new business developers, which is it? Is the city going to become restaurant row or as the mayor apparently has stated today, it's so dangerous, students cannot even walk to and from school or even be inside the school without worry about their safety. We welcome other points of view.

No one's being cynical here. Stating the Mother's Day Sunday might have resulted in fewer volunteers doesn't mean folks don't support Andrew's projects.
