  1. Wow!

    Some say silence is consent.

All the citizens of Allentown flocking to comment here today could lead some to the conclusion that the good citizenry of the City With No Limits are, in fact, on board 110% with Greg Weitzel and all his wonderful improvements.

Exactly two comments at The Morning Call are not doing much to disuade some from arriving at such conclusions, either.

Actually, it appears to be more of a blowout than that - but why pile on?

The end-result has been obvious for some time.

Any good refreshments expected Wednesday night or what?

  2. anon 4:17, when the public sees how cedar park was degraded by the new paths, there will be disappointment. regardless of how much, or how little, support my efforts attract, our park system is worth defending. who is weitzel to think his plans from a recreation catalog are an improvement to the iconic allentown park system?

  3. MM, thanks for tackling this. Unfortunately anon 417 is right - the apathy is staggering.

  4. Weitzel would be, or so it would appear, the guy whose opinion and wish list counts most.

As for the good citizenry of The City With No Limits, the silence is either :

    A. Endorsement
    or
    B. Cowardice

Considering one is allowed to post anonymously if one so desires, yeah, I picked COWARDICE on purpose.

I might have tossed in C. Ignorance, but, enough has been done (read - by you) to inform the public of all the shenanigans going down with respect to the Parks.

This is, of course, just one man's opinion.

I might ask why no one else has Remembered to speak out about this Wednesday's meeting but why bother?

This, as I have said before, was always a fait accompli.

Truth is, I am pissed off because, so long as the Bulldozer was going to dig up my Park...

(and the Bulldozer was always going to dig up my Park)

...I should have put down more than $ 50 on Big Yellow. I should have gone for it and been more Liberal.

    Okay, I feel better now.

Hopefully, the Bulldozer will get a good night's rest and be very Progressive, er, uh, productive at work tomorrow.

  5. rolf, kleiners current post at Remember speaks out against the trail network plan, at this time. although I don't think that plan is desirable at any time, every informed voice helps.
