Brain Transplant Complete

The City of Allentown has successfully removed, through an innovative laparoscopic procedure, all brain tissue from it's voters. Any brain cells remaining from the previous election in 07, were removed via the ear canal at the designated voting stations. This success at the municipal level has allowed Donny Cunningham to remain smiling, despite being overwhelmingly rejected throughout the remainder of the county. A statue of Dave Bausch will be on display at the Historical Society, the last republican ever elected to Allentown City Council.

  2. Gunther on his show Tuesday read a letter from an Allentown resident citing the 12th Street & Hamilton Mini Mart using Plexiglas to protect the cashiers.

  3. They don't have that bullet-proof glass there now, but they did a while back.

  4. The plexiglass goes up after 9 or 10 at night.

It is not up during the day.

  5. The Republican name has been effectively dragged through the mud.

    Whatever.

The condition of the city speaks for itself.

If you think it will get any better, keep dreaming and voting Democrat

  6. Dear PigPen,
    Thanks for supporting that claim.
How does the Mayor explain this situation, especially directly across the street from the public library!

  7. What's even better, the Mayor lives exactly one block down and one block over from 12th and Hamilton!

I won't give out Mayor's address but, for those who disbelieve, look it up, what I say is fact.

Look back at police records. Tons of stuff goes down right in His Honor's neighborhood front and center.

    Dear Pig Pen,
The Mayor and the Mrs. in a very smart political candidate move hosted a house tour few years back so his address is no secret, but we agree, always take the high road and never publicly post anyone's address.

  9. I am proud of my votes, which included votes for republicans. however, I'm very disappointed in the limited choices I actually had. One republican filed in the primary for city council. ONE! And the support he got was minimal from Republicans. two republican candidates for city office are either democratic outcasts or people who jumped ship because they couldn't get nominated by D's.

2009 was a year where highly qualified and refreshing republican candidates could have caught my attention. I voted for the few who did, but seriously... how is a lack of qualified R's a demonstration of my lack of a brain.

  11. geoff, you provide an excuse for this round with a weak republican slate, but the previous two cycles indicate that the city is pulling the straight D lever. i think the loss by both charlie thiel and tom burke confirm that. although you may have the sophistication to choose and pick, apparently you're in the exception.

the first version of this reply was deleted, i had a note on another matter addressed to the wrong person

  12. the irony of citing 2005 is that the R candidate for mayor in 2009 was one of the people who was part of that sweep. I guess his election in 2005 displaced highly qualified opponents who would have been assets to city council. I think that speaks to the inept nature of candidate recruiting on the R side of the city.

I certainly realize that in the past there were highly qualified candidates to choose (and I did), but having qualified candidates is the first step. There is also the step of running effective campaigns by raising money, knocking on doors and talking directly to votes. there is a HUGE gap right now in who is doing this effectively. I was called by D's at least 15 times (live people) in the last 2 weeks telling me to go out and vote. I received no live person calls from R's and a bunch of robo calls from one.

I do have some hope. I think some of the candidates elected could prove to be effective. I guess time will show.
