Councilman Tony Phillips

I have no idea what Tony Phillips was doing in the park two weeks ago, and I don't care. What I care about is keeping the voice of our best citizen and taxpayer advocate strong. Regardless of outcome, which is probably just the smearing of his reputation, Mr. Phillips would be entitled to be subdued in spirit. But Tony is a fighter, there's not a ounce of rubber-stamp in him, often the vote on council is 6-1. In a city experiencing a murder spree, what better qualification could a council member have than being a former police officer? It would be nice if some day Allentown becomes so tranquil that we can be concerned with innuendo's, but for now we need the kind of moxie Mr. Phillips brings to the City Council Chamber.

UPDATE: When I was a teenager there was a song called Town without Pity. the lyrics said "it isn't pretty what a town without pity can do." Of course in those days, before the internet, when you criticized someone you had to use your own name. Yesterday, there were 163 comments on the morning call website about mr. phillips, only mine used a real name. Under this posting i received an anonymous baseless personal insult off topic. I replied and stated i would leave the dialogue up for 12 hours or so. After I deleted it, an anonymous associate of the first insulter, accuses me of censorship. I will now monitor the comments. I welcome opinions and opposing dialogue, even anonymously, but not baseless insults.

  1. I want to make sure I understand you correctly. You want me to support a guy, and let us not forgetm he's employed as a "educator' in my local school district, who hangs out with hookers in city parks in the early morning hours. I wouldn't want a guy with this kind of voyeuristic streak anywhere near my daughter in school. I really have to wonder if he belongs in city government. I know I won't vote for him. I'm tired of sexually immature adults and their bad actions, so I'll wait, and read the obligatory mea culpa, but the longer it takes for him to step forward and explain, the less sincere I will believe it to be. You sir,Mr. Molovinsky are no better than Lisa Boscola, a would be enabler of another bad actor.

  2. assuming the worse, i don't think the offense is the same as bernie kieklak, phillips wasn't abusing anybody. his wife may well have some questions. again, assuming the worse, they were consenting adults, just like clinton. hillary supported bill, do you refer to her as an enabler? i attend city council meetings, where i see tony fighting for the taxpayers and citizens often against a steamroller. i didn't ask you to support him. on another note, i feel if i walked on water, you and yours would say i couldn't swim. i hope we can come to discuss our opinions without a pre-existing attitude.

  11. addicted, as i told you before, if any of my properties had any defects whatsoever, you can be sure as a candidate, you would have read about them. in reality my buildings are exemplary. i have never had code violations. i have never sought or received government funds. anybody familiar with my properties has never remotely thought of me as a slumlord. you have provided no address's, because there are none. i understand that you and the others on casey's site regularly insult people, but your talking about my life's work. i warned you before you were making juvenile accusations against my reputation and career. see you soon.

  13. You should read Fahrenheit 451, by Bradbury. It was all about censorship. So you only allow comments that suit your agenda?
That's nice. So how can I judge whether the comments are truly bad if I can't read them? Because you say they are? Thank you for protecting me from unhappy speech, Emperor Molovinsky!
